You may have to reset factory settings. First try a software reset.

Have you got the latest official version of navcore on it ? Not sure what it is, but use Tomtom Home to update it.
If you are using any copied maps it will require patching & then the map activating.

thanks russell , i have been on tom tom siteand update what i can as its just over 1 year old so we dont get free updates now . wife updates tom tom usually and all maps have been d/loaded off tt site so dont think any will have been patched maps ( though im not sure what patch maps are) . version is 2.7.3.1894 is that the navcore you mentioned.
i was thinking of trying to update maps and cameras myself now that its over a year old , is it easy to do ? ive had a read and you say i will need to save info thats already on tt , does that mean applications , safety cameras , quick gps fix data etc as these are already on my pc (must have been saved by wife ) thanks for your help

You get the Navcore updated free from Tomtom Should be version 8.*** & you'll find a few maps on here. Easy enough to do them all, just have a look at the guide I've posted on here.

Navcore sounds about right - use Tomtom home to check to see if you get any updates. Then you can use the v840.2562 map once you have patched the Navcore & then activated the map.
Don't know if it will fix your problem though, but it's worth trying.

davemaden.
I don't know your Tom Tom but it isn't something daft like a daylight sensor blocked ?
I have a TT Go 510 and I believe there is a light sensor on it .
As always I stand to be corrected.

Yes you can do it that way, but I prefer to use Windows Explorer and copy entire contents to a folder on the PC.

I'm on holiday at moment Dave, so not got access to be able to help much.
If you delete everything (can use windows explorer do do this) you will have to re-load everything & patch Navcore again & re-activate the map.
Jdownloader is just for downloading dlc files - try getting the UK v840 map I've posted on the forum if you have a problem downloading it.
