Hi all.

I think there is a problem with the tuner on my DM800hd.

I am only getting about half the signal level compared to my Eagle box
which i have tried on the same cable so i know it is is not a cabling or LNB issue.

For example i am currently getting 39% signal on Astra 2 & when i connect the same cable to the Eagle i am getting 77% when tring to watch the same channel.

Could it be a faulty tuner ?

I have had it about 10 months now.

cheers

Well, i tried moving the arm of the dish & it seemed to work a bit better now.

The DM must be a very sensitive tuner compared to the eagle is all i can say.

cheers

Also if you have a diseqc switch, you should consider changing it for a Spaun unit, they are the dogs.

I'm getting 82% on astra2 with a sly minidish, and 75% on Hotbird/Astra1/Thor/Hispasat with 1m dish

You should use a proper sat meter to measure the signal as the on-board 800HD signal meter will also vary depending on the drivers that are loaded . Mine was registereing 92% on 13E and I'm now down to 77% after upgrading to latest drivers but my "true" signal hasn't changed .
