When i installed Black hole...i wasnt or didnt understand how to get ccam on there? Tried manual install via filemanager but the ok or color buttons did not function!. How have others done it?

Did you add the Vti feed? Pli Feed?

With black hole press yellow button then you get addon menu to download emus etc.

I have gone back to PLi image, just because the media player on black hole is very buggy. It did not even list my mp3's.

I have to say for a first release the image is very good. Never had any crashes or green screen when zapping fast between channels, date and time all correct, card readers work great with both oscam and CCcam.

The only downside was the media player and because I have loads of mp3's and mkv's I can not use Black Hole image.
I am sure something as simple as a media player fix will come in the next release and then I will try it again.

Its better to have something than nothing and Dream Elite team and the rest of the image makers deserve a pat on the back and a beer or two because without them we would have sweet fa.


BTW I am taking a massive risk tonight, I have removed the official virgin media V+ box and put the VU+ Duo in its place. Now for the wife test if she likes it then happy days and I can cancel Virgin tv and save £40 a month. One thing for sure though it wont be as bad as when she first saw that 240cm dish ...lol

BH dreamelite is the best looking image out there , just testing more will let you guys know what bugs I find. None so far as I dont use an Harddisc so no recording, just single tuner in use here

Hi, can someone check their box settings for me and tell me if it is compatitable with NTSC. At the moment I have my AZbox hooked up to a big Sony NTSC flat screen and get a great picture, but after nearly a year of freezes no EPG etc, etc I'm thinking it's time for a change. Also I see no mention of USALS, is this possible?:cheers2:

Hi!

Got my VU+ DUO yesterday, it's amazing!

But I have a problem configuring Diseqc 1.1! Generally i never configured an Enigma2 box to my setup, so I can't say if it is a VU+ problem. No problem with Enigma1 boxes...

I have a Wavefrontier T90 with 8 LNB's. 4 LNBs (quattro) go to a 17/8 Multiswitch, other 4 LNBs (twin) go to a normal 4/1 Diseqc. The outputs (1 cable from Multiswitch and 1 cable from that 4/1 Diseqc) go to an uncommitted Switch. From there it reaches (obviously) my VU+.

Has someone similar config and can tell me how to set up configuration on VU+/Enigma2 (DM800/8000)??

i have tryed all images,but nothing works.
i can only scan Input1 AA-BB,and Input2 AA.but not AB-BB.
if i will scan input2 BB,the tuner scan input2 AA.

may be the box is wrong or this is a great bug.

its not worth. Even they admited that this image its not 100% ready. For example, skins are not 100% compatible etc. etc.

Iam using PLi and iam happy.

dream elite image is awsome, very detailed and fast but it consumes a lot of ram, but make sure before you install dream elite, install the original image first...

Go to the cammanager and prefer your favorite cam for autostart there. Which Key you need is written in BH Thread

kaneguru, twin recording works ok. I tested this today on PLi image.

But there is one quite big problem. Diseqc implementation isnt good.

Iam using this setup:

1. AA on uncommitted switch 1
2. AB on 1
3. BA on 1
4. BB on 1

the next 4 would be

6. AB on 2
7. BA on 2

I also turned on "repeat sequence"

First four sats work superb, two sats that are on port 5 and 7, dont work too good. Sometimes diseqc will switch to that sat, sometimes not. Usually not.

And iam not the only one with this problem. I already reported this to vuplus.

@bobonthejob m8 just double check you put CCcam.cfg in /var/etc and not just /etc.

@kaneguru what planet are you on ? Think you need a new hobby.

@dog-man m8 if you have a dreambox7020 then you will love the VU+Duo. Its E2 and its very stable. Its a lot better than the db800.

You need to download cccam first through the plugin manager, you can the ftp in your edited cccam.cfg you will then need to tell the image to start it

This is the best STB I have ever owned. BTW, Regarding Permanent Time Shifting, there is a plugin by the name of permanent time shift you can download from BH image addons. About Diseqc problems I dont know, I use diseqc 1.1 8x1 and it works well.

Atm iam only using simple A/B/C/D config. It works ok.

I also have spaun 412F on tuner A and it works ok.
With diseqc 1.0 receiver doesnt have problems, with 1.1 it doesnt work too well...

ok, i fixxed this issues using diseqc 1.2. Now everything works ok. Its 2-3s slower that 1.1 but ok.
For sure there is something wrong with diseqc 1.1 implementation.

maybe try the option fast diseq sometimes help a bit with

diseq 1.1 but u could always trys this on option diseq 1.2

Hi all, i did have BH installed. Have reverted back to Pli. Much more slim line and user friendly.

That will only happen if DMM orders the CCcam team to implement a way to detect a real dreambox (which could happen since DMM are not good guys), but Vu+ team can also implement a way to fool the CCCam...
It will be a cat and mouse chase.

Of course something can change, although I doubt very much they would do it, cccam ppl could implement a simple 'CPU type' check and refuse to run if it doesn't find the correct CPU.

the technomate 9100, 600/500 and the VU+ are both on track to offer
real chioce, and perhaps cheaper DB units

but if a new cccam arrives on the scene, it might be advisable to stay a step back

About development DMM is not the GOD are a lot of ppl working independently from DMM and from haw much i know Linux is Open source and Enigma is in free licence...


About CPU both have Brodcom Mips chip set will not be difficult to trick thinks...

DMM always says are third party s/w haw you know thinks coming from them !?? why you don't thinks if they have no more money from DMM same Developers can be pa-yd from VU + or some one else ! and that job go on...

Has nothing to do with blind, most popular Boxes have E2 and its fast and clear to handle.
But I dont expect that any E2 will be fast and clear and bugfree on any Sigma CPU :)

Nothing will compare to Dreambox, people say killer and so on but when they have been on the market for 1 year it's dead like all dreambox wannabees.

I had them all except Azbox, Ipbox what a joke, their software is crap, triple dragon, software crap there as well, the list can go on....

And now someone says Dreambox killer i had to look in the thread and what do i see? the wannabee Marusys receiver, Marusys made the Kahtrein UFS910and you all know how that went? half baked software crippling.

I am buying a DM800 or DM8000 next week and i am glad i am done with all Linux wannabee boxes that promises so much but can't deliver as most coders are crap.

Is there a way we can install a wireless keyboard and mouse in the Vu+? I installed the webbrowser plugin but when i enter the plugin it opens the webpage and since i dont have keyboard i cant try it and also the Remote control stops working and must be rebooted by telnet or the rear switch.

i found a version for dm that weorks finee on my dreamelite version on my vu+ but it lacks the epg search(press1) and multiepg(press3) section on the base of channel list. only for that it would be perfect. is there a dream elite version of this skin??:respect-055:

have used rytec for epg no probs in vti 0.7. however lately not happy with it and some missing providers and find satmate better and wish to use satmate epg data in vti image. i know i can do it manually using cross epg but am looking for a way to automatically do it. i ahve tried editing source files in ryec import but no joy. any idea or plugins guys?

Use media player deluxe 0.5 it's a manual ipk install then mount a drive/folder on ur pc one that you have set to share open media player deluxe and select net

as far as getting the unit to life...ie, new images,...you can use the usb method,...its very quick, and safe, not sure about usb/rs232 to be honest

currently I am using the dreamelite image, it does allow (as do other images) meo/barryallen, which allows multy images, although to start with, I would use the base image, update it, then barry allen, and use vti image on usb (rear usb) the front usb slot is best used for image updates

I have a motorised dish from 42e to 30w that i control with a vbox positioner ,connected to one of the tuners and on the second tuner i have a fixed dish with 13e and 9e. any ideas how to do the setup?

on my unit, I use a V- Box for one tuner, and a 1.2 diasque motor for the second tuner, so yes is the answer, but in your case, you would use the option "equal to"

I would first set up a single tuner as lnb 1,then activate the units tuner config find the various sats that you require, and via the handset control of the v box, save the positions as say 28/19/16/13 and so on

any unativated sats would show as a greyed out listing

once working, activate the second tuner

yes mate, this is a common problem with some echostars, the count of the dish movements go out of sync so the dish is under or over pushed, obviously it's just a case of moving the dish slightly in the menu, but this will become more complicated with no loop through and I would have to resort to setting up picture in picture to see what I'm doing with the echostar whilst checking for signal on the VU:applause-003:

you can use DREAM BOX CONTROL CENTRE
and updates / new images can be put on the unit via a usb stick on the front usb port

but with new images on the unit, you will also need to TELNET the unit, and change tyhe password from "blank" as in nothing to what ever

telnet command is as follows

passwd (hit return)

you then type in your preferred password, (no text will be visable) hit return
you will then be asked again to type your new passwd, repeat as above

Can you guys give advice and how does VU+ DUO compare to buggy azbox ?
Is it worth me doing the change?
If I take the plung which I might (xmas round a corner lol) is it hard to set up ?

buddy ive got a azbox the same as yours i had it for a year hopeing i could get it to work as a server with oscam internally but no go so i jumped onto the forums looking for another box and i saw everyone was talking about the vu+duo so i bought one,its the best box ive ever owned runs well as a server and client and so many images and support for it,believe me you cant go wrong if you buy one.As for my azbox which i still have in another room i tried the new e2 images on it even tho the e2 for azbox has come a long way its still very buggy and glitchy im still holding out for hope for it!!!!but has a long long way to go b4 it matches up to vu+duo's E2 images!!!
