DM8000 Help!

My DM8000 crashed yesterday or rather failed to fully start up again the progress bar stops halfway and thats it?, i had oozzoon's image on it with the latest updates.:rolleyes:

I cant seem to run dreamup as it is sitting saying "Calculating Checksum" so i cant re-flash it, i have attempted to obtain the IP using the button pressing sequence but again it sits there saying DCHP and nothing more, the box at present is setup using WLAN and because i cant get into it i cant setup the ethernet any ideas what i can do please.:banghead:

What about the recovery stick? Never used it myself but does it boot to that when it's plugged in?

If I understood well you were trying to reflash your Dream via Web Interface and couldn´t get the neccessary IP keeping the lower front button pressed while switching it on using the back switch. The same thing happened to me after I put the box to deep stand-by, switched it off on the back panel and then on again with the front button pressed. Then I found out the following: to be able to get the IP I must not put the box to deep stand-by before I switch it off on the back, but switch it off from the switched on (working) mode.

Many thanks for all the suggestions but managed to use terminal program putty to manually enter an IP and all is well now thanks.:respect-039:
