Is there any way to return an AZBOX to the condition it left the manufacturer?
I am having problems with it not operating my dish motor and a factory reset, delete all, format etc. seem to give a temporary, partial fix but I keep finding traces of previous settings that I put in there even after I have done all the above so wondered if there was some way of wiping it completely like formating the HD and reinstalling the OS does on a PC.

Yes,make a factory reset, then load original firmware to it.

I can't remember what version firmware was on it originally but have tried a factory setting and reloading the firmware but noticed things like the IP address I had set for the box was still in and I keep finding various other settings I had put in before are still in it.
I would like to go back to a clean state as I can't get Diseq1.2 to work at all now and USALS is only working when it feels like it.

Factory reset
patch.bin on usb
reboot
option 4 [format application arrea]
option 1 [update usb]
Factory reset

Tried that but it does not completely wipe it, tried everything in the 'data reset' menu but it still leaves traces of old settings.

When I first read the topic, I thought the OP was asking about cleaning the box inside out and I was gonna suggest using soap and water to do the needful... :king-041::king-041::king-041:

Naw, it needs a power washer to shift some of the stuff in there.

But first make sure FAN setting is set to ON - otherwise will take some time to dry :-)

Seriously, are Opensat still Open? They aren't on their own forum, don't answer emails and no firmware since the infamous fan-job...
Should I turn the lights out or is someone still there?

Use a mop and bucket. :)
