I, for one, am sooooo not giving facebook any of my details/stuff...
But I am also sooooo very much with you on this!
Without a vigorous protest nothing moves...
I will continue on sites like this one!
Good luck!!:cheers2:

I do not know what could be a sufficiently vigorous protest, of course I'm tired of this situation.
I'm sorry I wasted € 320 but mostly I'm sorry to see a receiver with good potential ditched because of people who can not manage the development.
Now on the official forum are only able to delete the post instead of responding to requests for help.
The protest most vigorously that comes to my mind would start a class action against Opensat, but I believe that the road is difficult, but we all holders of azbox exasperated by the behavior of Opensat, we could start a protest directly to the official forum:
I propose to stop writing on the official forum, boycotts until the continuation of this situation, after having signed a last thread entitled:
We ask to close this useless forum having its futility and its state of abandonment

A wake up call to OpenSat/Celrun/Sigma - maybe it would be a better title?!?:respect-048:

I thought I was the only one with no-never-facebook policy, nice to see there are others...

My views:
No to Facebook (isn't that Microcrap?)
Two fingers to Opensat and the contempt they have shown their users
Two fingers to Fat Giant for deleting posts instead of answering questions
My belief is that Opensat is winding down, and soon will be no more.
In any case, I am totally disgusted with them.

In case you missed my Thanks Denton, here is a more explicit one.
Thank you.

Instead of your sarcasm/humour or whatever it is, I'd rather have news on whether we're likely to get a firmware with bug fixes (instead of fan controls) and your comments on whether Opensat is now Closedsat.
If it's the latter, please release the source code before turning off the lights.
Yours, disgruntled,
Denton

You may be as disgruntled as you want to, but that gives you very few rights when it comes to personal attacks. Anyway, I don't have the answers you ask, if I did, they would already be public, and there was no need to ask for them.
Thanks ;)

Fatgiant,
In what way are you related to opensat, as you do not seem to have any answers... If you make your position clear we know what we can or cannot expect from you side.

I am an employee of OpenSat. The fact is, I am not the one who can give the answers, and, when I don't have any to give, it's way better to keep silent, then to regret what I said. Yes, I understand the need you all feel. Yes, in your position, I would also be demanding it. But, believe me, if you still can, at this moment, and until an official statement, or, at least some definite information is available, silence is golden. There will be changes. Big or small, will all depend on several factors. But, it is Too SOON to go public on that.
After saying this, you are reading "blah, blah, blah, wait, wait, blah, blah" and I know that. So, instead of making me say it, because it's all I can do for now, just wait. :)
About my choices of moderation, they follow rules. I do have a boss, you know.
So, my role is to keep one eye on the forum, applying the moderation where needed. In the end, I am the most visible one in the forum, and, that makes me a target :).

If the changes are in favour of all including those who bought the Elite and Premium, then it's worth waiting for.
Otherwise there is no point in making any statements on any changes whether they are big or small and trying to keep people hopes high...

It's nice to have you on this forum. Policy on official forum is too restrictive and with good and expected reason. Here you will have better insight about what users really think about box, and hopefully pass that information to your bosses.
About changes, here you will find some factors which can help you make better decisions and set some priorities. And I think that all wake up calls, on this and official forums needs to be addressed.
During last year, we have learned that you are far from ideal company so maybe it is time for Opensat to accept that as well. We have already swallowed a lot of fake promises, rumors and we are desperate for more open communication... I don't see any harm about telling: We will try to fix this, We might be able to add this... I doubt that you can come up with something that is revolutionary and has to be treated as top secret. And I hope there won't be new widgets... at least I am sure that you are aware about popularity of thread "Stop including new features" on your own forum.
For me it is better to be open and fail dozen attempts to do something, than to hide behind "Fan On/Off" and golden silence. I think that in this moment golden silence is really golden for your competitors, not for OpenSat.
We know you have bad deal, can't release source, but you are not called ClosedSat because of that :) Lack of communication lead to such nick...
Again... nothing personal... appreciate efforts to show interest...

what really amuses me about the fan on/off support is that is was already present in the firmware long before we even knew about the impossibility of twin tuner and the premium+ model.
This is a post from 2009-10-10 (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showpost.php?p=661783&postcount=2)
So it took OS several months to finally implement Fan On/Off in the GUI, maybe 5 or 6 lines of code, and then release a firmware to shut people off.

Again, you are asking me to talk about things I can't really talk about, because I don't have information. When I do, I don't need to be asked.
:)
And the reason I am here, you are right, it is to have better insight. And I don't only show interest, I am really interested.

@Fatgiant
I can see you're caught between a rock and a hard place, not a nice place to be.
I am also very glad that you are posting in this forum and would ask that other posters respect your position. You can only follow your bosses orders, the same as everyone else.
Our anger and frustration is not aimed at yourself, at all, but towards your employers.
One question that I'd love to have answered, Do you have to report to anyone at Opensat, about what is being said on the forums, or do the programmers, CEO etc, read the posts themselves
FatGiant
04-02-2010, 08:23 PM
Yes, most of them do have reading capabilities... LOOOOOOOOOL
Now, seriously, yes, they ask me to give them an idea of what goes on on the forums I read. Although they do visit this and other forums themselves and at will. So, don't doubt that what you say, gets to the right ears. At least if it's on public place like this. :)

the TRUTH HURST mate.
you and all the OS DOGS patroll have delited many posts not from the above member from you,r quote but from many others including me.
i have told you before ( OPENSAT ) HAVE STARTED DOING BUSSINESS THE WRONG WAY.
you must lsiten to the end users as we are the real costumers :-)
but nada , niet, no way we give a tos what the end users says
you need to lett go some of you,r code, accsidentaly make it public or ask some one with brain to hack you,r server adn steal the code ( code only for nesesary to build third party software )
i was so feedup with the box you sell and i feel so sorry for all the p+pl that i have made them buy it, i realy do feel sorry and responsible for that, i appolagise to all those. If OS can just care of what we have to say to us, and STOP the BS then they may win some trust back, but i for one will not ever buy something from Opensat anymore.
Ah an you,r boss HUGO is an unprofetional end user and not a real bussiness man not a visionis, and not a feature looking man, he do not see more far a way then his nose :-)
but as an old Balkan says has it, how laughts last laughts best :respect-050: and we the costumers have THE POWER
Sorry this is not directed to you as a person, but more an replay to OS and you sadly work for them .
i hope the spirit of Satdudez lives on and have the free speach type as long as we live, if all the forums are like the AZ Forum then there will be no more hoby, there will be no more free speach and there will be only DICTATURE
about the initiative for Facebook acction, i do not see the poin in it

You could at least write proper changelogs, seeing as your English is way better than KorEnglish or GeekGlish, so why don't you? Why is it so difficult to go through a release yourself, talk to the developers and then put together something decent to read, which actually lists it all and explains it properly?
Moreover, OS PR is a disaster area. Needlessly so! It seems to me you could do a much better job! [WTF?!?]
But the rest I have to say would be a pointless exercise, as you "can't talk about it", so it keeps being a "hush-hush thing", as before - and the structural problem remains, as the system of dealing with us is wrong, hence hell bent on letting us down.... continuously.... sadly...
That would be the second major thing I would do, if I were OS/Celrun.
The first one? Find decent teams to whom I'd release the bloody drivers.
See what happens... and count the money... then re-invest...
Wrong? I doubt it! That's what DMM and other co's do!
Do you wanna compete or what? Support is da word!
You want it! We know you do! We want it! You know we do!
Your competitors, on the other hand - don't!
So, where on Earth do you stand, in all this?
Results, as they stand, are poor!!!
And the proof of the pudding...
Good luck!

since the recent expression of dissatisfaction with development it seems opensat are at least listening 2 fw update on consecutive dates some small fixes and dev seems to be moving forward now with the tv api with some responses and help with questions to some of the guys trying to get an epg working with this.
is this just suddenly happened to keep the protest silent or are opensat finally listening. i am a sceptic so watch this space next week is dev going to go all quiet again i hope not. at least the wheels are turning again.
Fat Giant, Geeko and Opensat thanks for listening hope you keep it up and deliver i watch with bated breath
Thanks

I don't see any improvement in programmers work , they still fix some bugs while introducing new ones : in 4466 dts is fixed but now problems with iso files .
Cheers ,
