I've got a genuine 500s that currently got: -

Kernel: Linux 2.6.9
Release: 3.5.0
CCcam: 2.03 ;)

I've decided that it's time to get it up-to-date

It's connected to a 1m dish with a DiSEqC motor that gets 30w - 42e

Where do I start? What do I need?

what do you want to update the cam ,the image, or the disqec settings?

What image do you currently use and is it a genuine box ?

Its a genuine box using Gemini 3.5.0

I really want to update the CCcam more than anything

3.5 is no longer supported so just flash with the latest image and away you go.

Will I have to setup the motor again?
Also, a lot of people say Gemini may not be the best image...what do you recommend?

I use EDG 4.4 in my 500 but to be honest if you have an original box and you are used to Gemini then you might want to stick with it.

Update:
I've managed to flash my 500 with the latest Gemini, installed the lattest CCcam ;), and also re-configured all my sats on the motor....thanks for all the advice.

Now... can no longer take screen-shots when I log on the web-interface through my browser. When I click 'screen shot' all I get is a white box with a red 'X'

Any ideas?

Not sure but when I grab a shot on an e1 box's I found the screenshot tool always worked well.
