hi all,
I have a 60cm dish pointing at hotbird and wanted to get freesat as well. I bought seperate lnb and a holder for it. Now confusion begins.
Standing behind the dish astra will be about 15 degrees to the left. But what I found here, in another thread, according to Giga my astra 2d lnb would have to be to the right.Right?
I tried with lnb on the left but no luck, is this the reason? or is this my dish size. I heard it's possible to get both on 60cm dish (I'm in north London).

you are pointing at 13e , so 28e will be to the left if you are standing behind the dish

BUT , it will bounce off the dish and end up on the right , so from behind the dish your astra2 freesat lnb would have to be on the right of the hotbird one to pick up freesat

Yes you can do what you are suggesting but it is the setup that is all important. You say you bought an LNB holder but you dont say if it specifically made to take 2 lnbs at an angle! All the sats are at different heights so you need to know the degree angle for the holder. And yes things are opposit to what you think ie the mirror effect.

Here is a nice image that shows you what can be done, its on a 60cm dish and in uk. You should get another LNB and get 19e as well.

good luck and have patience.

post back if stuck. I did a few but always had the correct holder and a bigger dish.

If the bracket is only for 6° angle you can only get 19.2°E from the 13°E, you would need a bracket covering up to 15° - 16° to get to 28.2°E - 28.5°E
the bracket also should list 1° upwards to 28°E LNB (slightly higher then the 13°E

The holder is definitely larger than 6°, although the seller could not confirm the number. From what i can see it should be ok, i wanted to attach the picture of it but for some reason couldn't. Anyway I will try soon and let you know, thanks guys for your advice.

I managed to get both, hotbird and astra2 today, got it very quickly, no problems at all. I even have bbc hd and itv hd although it was hidden under some strange channel name. :woohoo-022:
