ASTRA/EUROBIRD 28.2 Problems

Hi guys,
i cant seem to get signal for astra eurobird 28.2/28.5..
i have most of the satellites on the arc,thor,hotbird,eutelsat 16e(even thouh i lost a lot of channels :S) anyway,i've disabled my motor movement limit,and still no luck..
i have a TM 5600ci SUPER receiver 90cm motorised..someone please help..thanks

Check for your area and dish size and line of sight. Make sure you are using an active transponder while pointing your dish

Dont forget that most of the UK programming etc have moved transponders which has a tight spot beam for UK, larger dishes are now required in europe to receive these transponders.:o11:

I was in Wein(Vienna) on a campsite over christmas and i had problems picking up any signal at all using maxview 66cm oval portable dish 0.3 lnb.:eek:

Take a look at dishpointer.com it will give you all the info you need line of sight, dish size etc.

I am in the footprint..i live near leeds..ive tried every transponder on the satellite..still no luck..thanks anyway

Can you get 19.2°E and 23.5°E move the dish with the remote from 23.5° to the east and use transponder 11954 H SR 27500, should come up strong

ive used transponder as u said but still no signal :(...i had it before i sorted thor out...same with eutelsat 16e..very weak signal..and only a few channels..

i cn get 19.2 and 23e no problem..just 28e i cant! :S

16°E: is now on three satellites (Eutelsat W2M, Eutelsat Sesat, Eurobird 16A) and these are not all on the exact same position: use remote and use the small motor displacement and not the big step.

28.2E: if you did realign the dish physically, there could be something wrong with the mounting or elevation? Pole = perpendicular 100%, no margin for error here. Every deviation will result in errors on the arc ends.

if you did only changed motor settings with remote: reset the motor and allign to Thor 6. If using DiSEqC 1.2 motor move to the East and readjust every Sat position and save it 4.8°E, 7°E, 9°E, 13°E, 16°E, 19.2°, 23.5°E, 28.2°E, 28.5°E

I think it will be this...its deffo not 100% alligned..but im worried if i re-allign i'll lose thor..ill see what i can do today.thanks.

Sounds to me like you could be slightly out of alignment.

OK when you adjust your dish:
motor position 0 should be aimed a THOR 6 (0.8°W) and not it's neighbor Intelsat 10-02 (1°W)
LNB = 0 degree skew
Check elevation of the dish to get strongest signal possible, slightly loosen the bolts and move it couple of mm up or down. If the motor dish pole is perpendicular in all directions. You should get 28.2°E OK

how do i set my motor position to 0 on thor?the latitude n longitude on my receiver is set o on both...thanks
ps:whats the strongest signal for astra 28 anyway?is it 11954H?

this depends on the motor, should be explained in its manual. On TM-2600 you have a button on the bottom of the motor to move it East or West and a scale indicating where the 0 position is.
