He's Wanting To Know About His Hdd In The Azbox hd What he wanting to know is the hdd is ext " or ext £ how do you find out if it is thanx

I think you mean ext2 or ex**.
If you have formatted the hdd with the AZBoxHD the hdd is formatted in ex**.

using kgd 9.4295 f/w in settings/storage/format. error message (fail to format). any ideas why this happens

Try to set hdd in SATA1-mode. Most of new hdd are in SATA2-mode. And the AZBoxHD have problems with some SATA2.

how do you select sata 1 or 2 on azbox

Not on AZBox, you only can change SATA on the hdd. See at homepage of hdd-manufactor.
