Poor HD image quality?

Hi,

I have an ASBOx Premium and I seem to have a relatively poor HD image. SD images are fine and compareable to other receivers (Sky HD box) but the HD image appears far too bright.

Tried HDMI and Component but the same issue. Using latest 4466 build.

Anyone else having this issue?

I don't have this problem... But some channels might be worse than others... SD channel 576*720 with 3mbits looks good to me, other SD channels with lower res. and low bitrate doesn't look good on any receivers.

i found the same problem with later firmware when i got the box had 38?? in it i carnt be shure but i dont think i noticed any problems also other sats like thor .8 astra 19 plus 13 there hd channels seem to be alot beter quality

I have not had any problems with brighter HD... Please compare channels that are both SD/HD, like Luxe.

yes i have its almost like a haze,same channels ok on my tm6900 though

I noticed it just last night on a footbal match on ANIXE HD (Hamburg-Stutgard I think).
The picture was really bright .

Never noticed another time though !

Yes, that's exactly what it looks like. Is it like this on all HD channels? I've only ever tested it on Sky UK HD chans as my dish is stuck on 28e for now. Will test it on others once I get it going...

I have the same problem at my end. Most of the HD channels on Sky UK and Canal Digital, FTV have very bright picture, which is very annoying. German HD channels, ORF, HD Suisse and Luxe TV have a normal, very nice picture, not brighter than the SD channels.

Hm... I guess it depends on codec used... are there any differences between various formats used in European skies?

The question is.....can this problem be solved cause i have quiet a few boxes and the same HDef channel is much brighter on Azbox comparing to dm800,dm8000,Octagon 1018. SD channels are nearly the same but i wan the HDef channels on AZbox to be with a better quality
