I've recently bought AZbox Premium Plus and ordered Hard Disk Seagate Pipeline II 500Gb separately.

Azbox failed to boot up after hard disk installation. AZbox is stuck with "CHECKING.." massage displayed.

HDD was new unformated, when I tested the HDD in computer it is looking good, recognize by Windows and able to work with it (I mean could create and format partition in windows).

I've tried to create linux partition and format it to Ex** file format, but AZbox behave still the same (can't boot up).

When I remove HDD from AZbox then is everything back to normal and I can boot up az box just fine.

Does anybody have had similar issues? Any help appreciated.

thanks

could it be jumper settings - slave, master, cs, try each mode....

Its SATA drive so there is no jumper block to choose Master or Slave

PIN 5 & 6. Set it to "SATA 150"-mode. It's downhill from there.

I have followed this guide (http://seagate.custkb.com/seagate/crm/selfservice/search.jsp?DocId=193991&NewLang=en&Hilite=jumper+sata) to set HDD speed to 150 but it doesnt help.

Not sure where PIN 5 & 6 is, but I guess they should it have correctly on Seagate support site.

I've tried to clear MBR partition table today, the booting process got a bit further after that but get stuck saying "LOADING ..."

I've red in other forums suggestion to format HDD with FAT, but it doesnt make any sense to me while AZbox is a Linux box.
However it might try as a last resort and after that O dont know what to do. Perhaps kick the box and send it back to where it came from.
