There are a few different CCCam plugin's for the S4000. The latest versions are working well with CCCam line and they are loaded via the USB if you are using the latest firmware.
The Plugin's are not reseller specfic so any Fortis based PVR version will work in the S4000 try an Octegon 1018 or Atevio Plugin.
The Spiderbox is not a Linux receiver, its CCCam is patched into its firmware directly.

Thanks coldasice
I have followed the instructions
Now i can see the plugin menu
click ok
can see the octogen.sh40 is started
but still all i get is scambled channel
Can this box connect to external servers or have i been wasting my time trying?

also i have noticed that when the network cable is plugged in there is a solid orange light on the port and no green at all not even a tinyist flicker?
Thanks

Check the network settings option first. Set off and on and make sure DHCP is on for your router. You should see the settings for the box there.

yeah done all that mate still nothin im just thinkin if the ethernet is dud

If you get an Ip on the box menu the ethernet is ok. Are you sure that he doesn't have a dynamic ip address and that is not the problem?

No i had the box last night and fiddled around with it for hours i had an IP i even plugged striaght into my virgin cable modem and got a correct ip for some reaosn it just wont connect to the externasl server i have ran everything exactly how it says on here and other places everything looks to be correct service is started c line in the cfg file but still not clearing any channels
just strange if you ask me im gonna advise him to send it bac and get a different box cos this one seems to much hassle to me the dreams are much easier than these

You might find it difficult to send back if its been used and he had it more than 7 days, as most companies have a 7 day return policy and after this date they don't have to accept a return on the basis of the user not being able to use it!

Have you tried to FTP the box as this will confirm if the port is working or not. It would seem that CCcam does not work with 1.07.89 firmware. All the latest versions they say you need to be running 1.07.86

Just seen this elseware if you port is working maybe this will help.

CCcam 2.14 Auto Installer for OCTAGON S1018HD PVR
Firmware Requirements
-------------------------------------
ICECRYPT S4000 HD PVR Firmware Version: v1.07.89 or above.
or
OCTAGON S1018HD PVR Firmware Version: v1.07.86 or above.
Installer Instructions
-------------------------------
First, get the IP address of your receiver. To do this:
Press Menu --> Installation --> Network Settings --> change DHCP off and then ON
You will then get an IP number.
Unzip all the files including the 'var' folder in this zip to your local HDD.
Be sure to tick the box "Use Folder Names" or "Extract Full Paths" depending on your Zip Utility.
File structure should look like this on your Hard Disk after unzipping.
ICE_CCcam_installer.exe
README.txt
var
If you don't see the 'var' folder then you've unzipped the files incorrectly.
Edit the CCcam.cfg file in the /var/keys folder and add your C line.
Use a suitable text editor like notepad to do this then save the file.
Now run the ICE_CCcam_installer.exe application.
Enter the IP address of your ICECRYPT S4000HD or OCTAGON SF1018HD Receiver into the IP Address box.
Unless you have changed the password of your receiver leave the password box blank.
If you have added a password to your receiver then enter that password into the password box.
Click on the INSTALL button to FTP the files to the Receiver.
When all files have successfully transferred, power off the receiver (power switch on the back)
to reboot, then power on.
In Receiver Menu:
Press Menu --> Utilities --> CAS --> OK Button
Switch internal card reader OFF.
Reboot Receiver.
Press Menu --> Utilities --> CAS --> Plugin --> OK Button
octagon.s40 plugin will be listed, this is the CCcam plugin.
Press the Green Button to start the plugin.

Dude if your box is showing that its got its ip address in the option and in the router I would say its not the box's problem and more likely your router/internet/server settings. Have you checked your port forwarding, dns server settings etc?

Port forwarding is only required if your running a server. In this case I presume that your not. Your using CCcam on the reciever as a client therefore port forwarding isn't required.

Hey everyone. I too am having issues with CCcam on the ICECRYPT. It decrypts my Irdeto card fine but I can't connect to my DM500S with a C or N line. Does this version of CCcam support connecting to newcamd? Can someone also confirm that CCcam.cfg only needs to be in /var/keys and NOT in /var/etc?

Thanks so much

Hi Jacksback
Ok it depends on wich emulator you are running, if you are using cccam 2.1.4 or octocam then you will use the cccam.cfg in var/keys but if you are using xcam emulator then you need to use the cardclient.conf file in var/etc
im using xcam with a n line working fine. you need to change a few things in the line if you are familar with cccam.cfg to get it to work on the xcam here is an example for you
this is an xcam cardclient.config in var/etc
newcamd: 192.168.1.X 10000 username password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
this is a octocam or cccam 2.1.4 ccam.cfg in var/keys
N: 192.168.1.X 10000 username password 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
Also you need to check in you newcs.xml on the 500 what port you card is on example above line are shownig my top card port is 10000
hope i havent confused you even more

I'm with virgin media.

What is the IP address of the box. (The first three of the four numbers will suffice.) Specifically, does it start with 192.168, 172., or 10.?

The reason for asking the questions is that I assisted someone else with Virgin cable a little while ago and the router provided by Virgin only provided a single IP address, so only one device could connect.

Can you ping out from the box? From you PC try something like:

$ telnet 192.168.1.4
Trying 192.168.1.4...
Connected to 192.168.1.4.
Escape character is '^]'.

You will need to change the IP address on the telnet command to match your box.

Thanks for the reply mickeydebo. I think it didn't work because I was trying to connect to a USER line in newcamd which was listening on port 12001. I'm fairly new to the scene and thought I had to configure my listening connection in newcamd. Are you saying I need to add the ICECRYPT details to newcs?

Does anyone have this working? If so what software versions? I'm on 1.08.22 with CCcam ocatagon sh40. I can see it logging into my CCcam server, but it doesn't decode anything.
