Technomate TM 500 Linux

What can people tell me about this unit, I understand it can do cs.

How well does this actually work, as the price of the unit is very attractive... not much more than a dvd player (well maybe a little)

Also if I were to go down the cs route, would a normal fixed mini dish be OK, and what is a good service to use?

I have not got a clue on this Linux based receivers and what they can really do, so could any response be as simple as possible

Can be flashed to work just as a dream box and cs is fine.

You are aware these are SD only, no HD. Download some live linux cd's and have a go with these and see if it is something for you.

live linux cd's? whats that then?

Bootable CD/DVD with a working Linux distribution on it, you don't have to install this on a hard disc, so you can have a go at it and see if you like Linux.
Perhaps some members can tell you what is close to the one running on that box.
