technomate 3000d problem

Hi a friend has bought round a technomate 3000d reciever with a problem.
It seems to boot up ok then gets to a channel and locks up permertnly on channel 345 is it faulty or is there a way to retrieve it.
it has no response to handset and has been flashed so he said with technomate patch from there website for freesat only.

maybe you can re-flash the firmware? Download their last loader (TM-3000-200-300-400-3150-3500Loader) and official software.
Use a working null modem cable on real rs232 port on computer with XP.
Switch of computer and receiver (Switch at the back). Have it connected with the null modem cable. Start the loader, select the firmware, and start the uploading. Only then switch on the receiver, if your lucky you should see a transfer progress on receivers display? If that is not working press menu key on front pannel and keep it pressed down while switching on (Switch at the back) and follow screen instructions? This is how it works on 6000, could be same on 3000?
