Hello. I want to order up a cyfra+ card (12 month prepaid card). Do these cards need to be updated in a special type of box? Is it possible to do this directly in the dreambox 500?

Well, just in case anyone comes looking for same answer, CCcam does the job! :)

I've run into a bit of bother here. Im not sure why becuase I could have sworn its already updated once since i got it. In any event, my cyfra card entitlement ran out yesterday. What change do i need to make to CCcam config in order to allow the dm500 itself to update it??

DISABLE EMM : no
EXTRA EMM LEVEL : yes

bugger....this has has happened again. The above seemed to work the last time - and I left the settings as above. If thats the case, how have the entitlements not updated again?

When you check your log see if the card is getting emm's ?

Have you set other peers to send emm's ?

F: user pass 2 0 1 { 0:0:2 }

The1 means peers can send emm's which will help to update your card.

When you check your log see if the card is getting emm's ?excuse my ignorance on this one - but how/where do I access the log? (on dm7020/cccam2.1.4)

I only set a couple of them - but they are normally regular watchers...so im a bit confused as to why it wouldnt clear ..unless they haven't been around..?

I guess I better do this for a few more.

However, one question springs to mind. If I leave my own box tuned to a cyfra channel, should it not pull down the emm's itself?

You can see this from the webinfo pages but I would advise any CCcam user to use php info so you can see in detail what is going on.

You are correct to assume this but it does not hurt to have as you say a few of your more regular users sending emm's

Best is to leave ur card on TVP 1 for a while that channel will give u emm updates.

Mine works like a charm (CCcam 2.1.4) only one regular user has AU rights.
My subscription is in it's 8th month, never had a miss

I have tried that - and it worked last time without any problem. However, its not working now. I left it between tvp1 and tvp2 over the past 30 mins and only 6 emms have been handled. Under entitlements, I have the following listed;

CYFRA+ : 2010-08-31
CYFRA+1 : 2010-07-05
CYFRA+2 : 1992-01-01

Whats the difference between the first 2?

I've left it on one of the cyfra channels all morning and no dice (I didn't use TVP1 as if I do this CCcam will deliver it from elsewhere).

do u have another box that u could try ?

Just a regular box without cams and all.

maybe that will work for u.

I have a official sub not pre paid so i cannot tell exactly how pre paid are processed.

I have another dm500 - I guess I could try that - but then its running cccam - so same difference? I guess I will try it anyways - in the absence of any other fix.

if i were you mate i would try to update it using Newcs or Oscam, use the example for setting up Oscam that i posted for you over on the CCcam forum.

alternatively, just pop it into an aston cam for an hour or so and use the conditional access option on your dreambox.this will deffo update the card for you.Ian.

Thanks Ian - I will have a go at this tonight. In the meantime, I have managed somehow to get the first entitlement line (Cyfra+) updated until September. However, the second line (Cyfra+1) has still not updated. Why would one update and not the other????

I've just discovered others on another board that have had exactly this problem regardless of the update method (including aston cam).

ie. 0000 Cyfra+ updates
but..
0068 Cyfra+1 doesn't.

This has only been reported to happen on prepaid cards (which mine is).

I have mailed the supplier of my prepaid card and i'm awaiting a response. I'm just curious as to what explanation those of you who had this problem before were given? If this is an issue that arose last year, why is it still happening?

For me smells like expired card.
Both providers share the same address for update so normally they should update unless the card doesnt have the rights anymore.

Will see what the provider has to say - hopefully they will come back and clarify in the morning. I'm only a quater of the way into my 12 month sub...

Not checked the card yet but got a mail from the provider to say its been reactivated - so I guess problem solved - although I would love to know why this arose in the first place?
