Dm800 records one channel while watching another

Hi

Bizarre behavior from my dm800 as i try to get a esata hdd to work properly.

I set a timer to record a movie, and instead of the box switching channel to the channel i want to record, it just stays the same on the channel im on and the recording starts.

Somethings gone wrong i think, but no, because when i stop the timer and replay what has been recorded, it is correct !!

So i have been watching 1 channel, but recording another !!

How is this possible with only 1 tuner? very strange, but true !!

I have dm800 with Nabilo sat 0.12 bl75 sim 2.01 motorised 1m dish.

thats only possible if the channels are on the same transponder .

you can actually record two channels at the same time - if you use dreamstream for one of them .

ok, your right they are on the same transponder, didnt know you could do that, will check out dreamsteam.

Actually, you can just record two channels from the same transponder. Last night was recording 2 programmes at same time normally through dm800 ... one on sky hd premiere, the other on sky family hd... So all ok straight off
