View Full Version : AZBOX Cable for an Internal Hard Drive?

I cannot find a cable locally, and am not sure what is needed. I have pictures if anyone wants me to send them, but I may not post them here. The unit is an AZBOX Premium

I can make the JHS cable for the circuit board if I know the pin out. If anyone can send me a picture of a working cable that shows the circuit board ends, I can modify a 22 pin off the shelf.

Also, I have never formatted a SATA drive and only have a laptop running windows XP. Can the AZBOX format the dirve? My firmware has that option.

I live in the US. Thanks! Dave

Hi Dave, is your Azbox Premium new? if so the correct cables should be inside the shipping carton.

Regards, Welshman.

Hi Dave, I would contact the dealer about the missing hdd plugs,

however the power plug wiring is from the front

YEL-BLK-RED-BLK ie. 12v-0v-5v-0v

CAUTION make sure you only use the White socket behind the SSD and not the black one next to the SATA socket.
the data cable can be obtained from Newegg in the USA 6 nch or 8 inch is ok.

Thanks all for the responses. Very helpful. I posted a picture of the circuit board and cable as suggested.

I have reviewed the YouTube video and I think from the perspective of circuit board the photo of the cable when plugged in should look like this:

Black
Red
Black
Yellow

Please see the picture below and confirm if possible? Thanks so much!!!!

Hello,

It is not normal that you didn't get the cable to connect the HDD.
It is provided with all Azbox Premium, you should ask for it.

Is it a second hand Premium?
Do you already open the case to see if the cable is not already connected on the motherboard?

What makes you think it is wrong the picture you posted clearly shows

Yellow on the right which is the front of the box, well it is on mine anyway so I can't see how you think I am wrong however if you are trying to be silly then I give up..

That is exact opposite of what you said when you agreed with dave_h, that is why it was wrong.

Take a look at post #5 in this thread where I said

however the power plug wiring is from the front

YEL-BLK-RED-BLK ie. 12v-0v-5v-0v

Now it all follows on from there, English may not be your first language so it might not be clear to you, however Dave is an American and he did understand me, so that is all that matters I'm sure..

Although I am a Welshman I speak English as a first language!!

It doesn't read correctly if someone took your post at face value as I have done.

I was just pointing out the way you edited the post made it incorrect if someone did not look at youtube.
