How do I Format application area ?

My box is playing up, so i would like to format the application area and instal new fw. How do I do a format ?

Put the firmware on a USB-stick. Reboot. Option 4 from the menu that shows when you boot with a USB-stick attached.

Dont see a menu when I do that, strange.

That option was removed a long time ago, as I never see it anymore either.

Why don't you just do a factory reset (from settings).

Did you rename the file to patch.bin?

Hi, update is or was not a problem, I have always just instaled new FW. I just reset all channels and sats, then factory reset, then put the new FW on , now its behaving itself , holding scaned channels all good, thank for the info .
