in the past to transfer favorites from an old map to new, i just copied the mapinfo file to the new map directory. I've tried that this time and it does not work. maybe because the old map was europe and the new just the uk. i did delete all the non uk favorites first.
Any ideas

Copy the mapinfo.cfg file into your map folder, then use Tomtom Home to operate your device & go to Manage Favourites - then Rename one of them (don't need to make any changes) & click on OK.
Disconnect from TT Home & they should all work now.

Ah sorry, it's the mapsettings.cfg file that works, not the old mapinfo file.
If it hangs try connecting to your pc & then turn it on.
What map & navcore version did you have & what are you using now ?

It won't help with the hanging problem, but there's a newer map on the forum - UK & RoI v845 :)

Yes I had it on my old Go500 with the navcore v8.204 I've posted on the forum.
