OK we got the pole perfect with a spirit level , and got the dish in place but for the life of me i cant get the arc right .
we have a few tree's in the way of 0.8 west so we cant lock onto a good signal on there which means a few of the install info on here is not good for us .
any advice would be great on best way to get the arc right when we have a few sats blocked with tree's would be great chaps

Not sure if you're sorted yet Karl but you don't need to set up on 1w IF you use USALS.
Lets say you can see 28.2e. Set your motor angle and lock it (motor to vertical pole bracket), this bracket should not be tight on the pole. Now, after you have set your site coordinates in the receiver, tell it to go to 28.2e. Your motor under USALS knows exactly where 28.2e is, all you have to do is adjust the motor & bracket around the pole and elevaton of the dish via it's bracket (between dish and motor stub). Simply a case of sweeping the dish up & down, settling on the best signal, then left & right (rather like the golden shot if you remember that show). Once fixed on 28.2e, USALS will know exactly where every other sat is.
It is advisable to then set finally on a sat close to due south of your location, a weak sat or transponder is good here as 28.2 is too strong for fine tuning. If you are slightly off on 28.2e you will be a way off by the time you reach 30w but fine tune on say 1w or 5e and any error is halved (50% e, 50%w).
