If you want a problem free playback of hd mkv (especially over net) you should run this command on command line
snice -v SDecoderServer DStar -5

I can play BluRay movies shutter free over network (nfs udp)
with bitrates up to 40Mb/s

Thanks for the tip. I'll try this. Is this what KGD panel do for priorize the software modules (TV, Multimedia, RSS etc...)?

If possible I want to assign lowest priority to RSS and Web browser on reboots by creating a script in start.d. I do not use these modules. Do you know appropriate commands?

A list of all important procesess running on Azbox and their shot descriptions will be really great...

Actually I find this regardless of KGD. It seems that opensat is using nice in their startup scripts but assign different priorities to DStar and SDecodeServer and therefore causing shuttering when processes are waiting for each other. Priority is no so important as long as it is the same for both (actually more) processes and below 0
I have no idea what is process name for rss and web browsers
I suggest you to use top and see what is the highest CPU eater when you are using those modules

I try this on KGD and no change with 1080p mkv ( >10 Mbps ) over NFS, still shuttering on fast changing scenes

Question is what's are KGD settings
1) what was the bitrate, >10M is quite vague
2) what is your nfs params (tcp/udp rsize)?
3) Whats you encoding?
4) KGD firmware doesn't have DTS fix which is quite important for good mkv playback :)

I still sometimess see a problem on sudden change of bitrate when is changed let say from 20Mb to 35Mb and it's probably related to buffering which must by solved by opensat
But as I say I can play h264 encoded movie with bitrate >35Mb
vc1 encodes are more tricky though especially on fast moving scenes :(

KGD TCK set to highest for multimedia
tested file overall bitrate 10.3 12.3 12.6
one file with DTS, but I use down mix to stereo over HDMI
all AVC encoding
udp rsize set to 32KB
I think problem is related with buffering when bitrate sudden change

Did you try creating a swap file on internal HDD. KGD has this option. You can use swap script of Mokus Tools v1.6.

I don't know how much effect swap has but indeed I have it on
12Mb should be ok
try some other samples to see if it's not sample related

I'm using 200 MB swap file. This may be too much, but there is too much space in my HDD.

I mean 12Mb bitrate should be playable without problem
Try your transfer rate from NAS by
cat nas-file >/dev/null
and dstat running on nas

you should be able to get 5MB/s
