does anyone know how to capture the timeshift buffer, or make it inc the timeshift into a recording.
i.e if im wathing a film 20 mins in, and it looks good, i can rewind to the start of the film which is great, but as soon as you hit record it starts recording from the live part of the broadcast, therefore missing out the first 20 mins...
do any firmwares \ official \ octagon \ E2 image fix this?
cheers!!
:ack2:

I'd also like to know this... Do any other Linux recievers do this?
I know my dad's Virgin STB doesn't allow you to capture the timeshift. It's something that used to really annoy him especially as the Sky boxes allow you to do it.

yeah v annoying - if its recording anyway, surely this can be resolved in a f/w = even my old topfield TF 5500 used to do this...
EDIT:
i just found this which is on the latest Octagaon firmware notes (i have bolded the relevant part)

And as if by magic 10801 is released for Octagon. Let's hope for some nice bug fixes - looking at the release notes none look too relevant to me but you never know.

I've had the STB dead after long time watching... after leaving it turned on over night.
Is there a setting to auto-hibernate? I've not had chance to look yet
