original dm8000 fan

just got the fan today and fitted it. do you need to use the fan control plugin to get it to work or does it just spin round by itself

i have downloaded the fan control plugin but when i try to use it the dm8000 crashes im using oozoon full image

This is what I use, it is so long ago that I cant remember too much about it, but I think I abandoned the "stop start" version because it was constantly doing just that, and made a large fan run continually but slowly so that it is virtually silent.

Just FTP the ipk to tmp then go to user script menu and you will see
install ipks from tmp or /media/hdd

THankd quailman i have just installed this plugin from script .

i rebooted the box afterwarrd and now when i go to menu then pluins i get this message

some plugins are not available extensions/fancontol nomodule named sensors

I do not use any fancontrol, I got the plugin from another forum. Looks like its not supported by your image here are the release notes

Just anticipating a few restrictions:
- Works only with new image for example Gemini 4.6
- Is 1 Version without much testing
- Works in Momemnt ONLY with 4pin PWM fan

With the new drivers, the temperature-control not work anymore. I wanted to be happy dealing with plugins and I have tried my hand at the fan control, because I miss her. I started at 0 without really know much about, and now in 2 days, creating something good working. I must say, it's fun, even if it was harder than I thought. If you want to even try, go ahead, but is still much to do until it is properly done. Would have it you only have to imagine times. Please do not push for full versions can have the next couple of days to come (when) you want.

What does it at the moment:
- Controlling a 4pin PWM fan
- Setting: minimum speed, maximum speed and system-start temperature (plugin configuration under !!!!!)
- Slow system without much CPU load
- Base temperature is the average of the 2 highest temperatures!
- Regulatory end temperature down to 55 ° C

Regard! Under the original system with temperature and fan settings:
Lüfter1 put on a full-voltage, or achieved at a value of at least the desired maximum speed (I will not change)
PWM-Lüfter1 a value can be preset from that is regulated

Geht leider noch nicht mit der Stable-Version (Experimental sollte gehen). Es könnte helfen, unten angegebene Dateien zu ergänzen, zumindest hat es bei mir funktioniert. Es ist bisschen kompliziert aber was anderes fällt mir so schnell nicht ein.

- Datei mit FTP nach /tmp kopieren
- dann im Telnet:
cd /tmp
tar -xzv -f sensor.tar.gz -C /
- OoZoon neu starten

i have bought an original dreambox 4 pin fan m8 i do not want to do any rewiring .

it looks like the only walkaround at the moment is to either change the image to gemini 4.6 or go back to oozoon 2.6

what do you think to these initial setting should i change anything

can comfirm woking very well with 4 pin fan the inital voltage setting is quite usefull when you turn it down it slow the fan down and box is very quite
