Open your AZbox, remove the DOM and install a IDE HDD in its place.
You can also use a IDE cable with Master&Slave and use the DOM as a Master and an IDE HDD as slave.
The HDD can be used to have a swap file which should help to speed up things.
What I don't know is if he installed the fw in HDD or used the HDD just to have a swap file.
interesting. is it possible with SATA HDD?
is there no way to boot azbox from internal sata mkeing things faster ?.the dm700 used to able to use hard drive for swap file, thats why i ask.
I've tried to use ugly hack
1. First I copied all files from DISK2 to backup dir:
cp -pR /DISK2 /DATA/hdb1/backup/
2. /bin/mount -o bind /DATA/hdb1/backup/DISK2 /DISK2
just put it in startup script and reboot.
Seems that channel lists are opening little bit faster. :king-042:
dont forget to do it for other azbox mount points =)

I don't think it's ugly. It does the job without opening the box. Maybe we can mount more folders?

Could we just replace the DOM with a faster one? they're very cheap nowadays...

That is possible, but if the DOM have more than 256MB HDD in Premium model might not be detected, or give other problems on Premium models.
AFAIK on Elite there are no problems.

Some people from turkish forums reported no perceptible performance difference after changing their azbox DOMs with faster DOMs. No extra speed in menu, media or something else.
One more thing. I haven't tried it myself yet but probably if you pair this with TV-API EPG gizmo from the adjacent thread it will remember all data after reboot. Have no time to try it..
