isnt the April roll out just for pubs? Though the home viewers were only getting it come October. At least then there will be more hardware and software available.

I am thinking of buying a Plasma TV as I am still using an LG 32" CRT.

Spoke to a guy at LG last week and he advised me to hang fire until April to buy a new TV,owing to the fact that all the TV manufacturers are officially launching 3D TVs on Wednesday March 31st.This ties in with Sly launching there 3D channel on saturday.

The prices of LCD and Plasma TVs will have heavy discounts from April/May onwards as the outlets will be going crazy trying to sell 3D TVs.

Cheers
Jay

I would wait for the 2nd generation of 3D TV's.

Spending £2K on a TV that could be obsolete in 2-3 years seems a waste of money.

was a report on German c't-TV last Saturday: Had 3 main brands where one is already on sale: all suffer from 3D ghosting: showing light where it should not. So don't buy yet, footy may be a big drive for 3d TV. Not all people can watch sustained 3D TV: hoofdpijn en duizeligheid. 3D glasses are not compatible between brands. additional cost: 90 UK£/100 € for each 3d glasses.
So test drive this in the pub before you buy over a longer period. And have your eyesight tested: some people can't even see 3D with this method. People with Strabismus Often Lack Depth Perception! (Lazy Eye)

Giga just when you say about glasses , having to wear 3d glasses is OK but if like me you have to wear glasses, do you wear 3d glasses over your own glasses don't think this would be very comfortable.

I think it should be "ghosting" not hosting. Anyway, let's wait for glass-less 3D TVs...

if you want full HD in 3D you need an active 3D display. Sky being the cheap skates that they are have opted for Passive half res HD 3D as it means they dont have to replace hardware. LG will be launching a passive only display with active displays later in the year.Your only going to get Full HD 3D if you opt for a 3D Bluray player and an active display which come with shutter glasses making 1080p possible. I would be reluctant to opt for LCD 3D sets as screen lag may be an issue. My money is on Panasonics Active displays.
