View Full Version : Help needed TM 6900 HD Conbi Super
hello everyone.
im really really going round in circles trying to get my new TM 6900 HD Conbi Super up ive just bought.
well its second hand not new and must have an image or soemthing on because i can get BBC,ITV etc etc on it but thats about it.
ive got an eagle reciever but i thought it was time to go HD and got this cheap but i regret it now because its worlds apart from an eagle box and im going backwards reading all the info onthese TM's.
is there a dummies and i mean dummies guide for me to get this going please because all the different things ive read are confusing me even more and i really could do with some advice and pointers on how to get me fixed up.
ive sussed out and got my motor moving and stuff but i really cant understand how to get the keys/softcam and other files across to the box.
with the eagle i just FTP'd everything across really easy but with this i really dont know where to start.
any help would be welcomed and very much appreciated.
cheers

Very Informative and friendly first post .
Getting the motor working on the Arch is a Major achievement in itself so take a bow....
Unfortunately I don't own a 6900 HD version , but I hear the quality of the product is very good and performance also a A+ in the features department.
I also don't know anything about Eagle box's !
But I am sure that buy being patient and informative toward other users , you will soon have it running smoothly.
Regards:respect-051:
thanks mate.
i did actually post my first post in the introduction section but dont know why it didnt show as a post ?
anyway thanks for the kind words :-)

I believe the 6000 is usb and the loading procedure for a tmsoftcam should be exactly the same as for a 5000 usb model , so take a look in the sticky sections and tools sections of both the 6000 and 5000 series models here
you will also find the tmsoftcam posted in the public section or in one of the tm sections , as its the same tmsoftcam for all the non-linux tm models
and if it has ethernet on it then you should take note of the posts telling you how to use it with say a C line or whatever they use using 8281
I am sure if you have a good read of both forums there will be plenty of info on it

Welcome & enjoy Satpimps. This would be the forum where you find most interesting (stickies) Always make sure you're relating to the correct model Super or non-super when flashing patches (firmware) do test before your current null modem cable with your computer so you have a working solution, just in case something goes wrong.
ok after reading and reading ive managed to get a patch on and a softcam.
ive read more and ive installed DCC and TCC but it wont connect to DCC at all and ive put the username as root and left the password blank.
the ip addy of the box is recognised as what it is but i keep getting this error...
ERROR 10057 in function send socket is not connected
so im now stuck unless anyone has had this problem and can help ?
many thanks

I wouldnt have thought that dreambox tools or tm9100 tools would work to this box , especially as its not a linux box like a dm800HD or a tm9100
dunno why you are even trying that approach
the fact is that normally you connect using a null modem and serial com port connections , like dreamup on a dmm , but using the darkman tm1500 loader , or usb as you have now done
its also worth pointing out that the patches for this box have now ceased , along with its brothers and sisters too , but tmsoftcams will continue for the time being
thanks mate.
i read a post on here about trying to put a C LINE on and to do so you have to use DCC ??
im familiar with DCC because of my eagle box but i get that error "ERROR 10057 in function send socket is not connected "
i dont really want to patch it seeing ive got channels like like BBC,ITV etc clearing but i just wanted to put a c line on

I dont have a tm6000 series box , but I would assume its done either using the usb stick or by the remote control
aaah i see what you mean about it wont connect to this because its not linux mate.
so how do i go about getting the cline on ?

he has done the softcam already , its the c line input he needs now , and a quick hunt around this forum shows me its done using usb stick or remote control
I do understand you are confused BM , so for that I sympathise , but you are confusing yourself by treating it like your eagle
I have a tm1500 , and a tm9100 , and a dm800 , so know there are big differences
forget the ethernet port apart from connecting to dyndns etc
usb is used on this machine , with serial loading as a backstop if you brick it
just look for the info like I pointed you at and you should get there , as your eagle is more complicated than this dumb box ( non linux )
the tm9100 is SD only , not HD , so wont give you any more than the eagle did

anyone want to buy a TM6900 ? lol
ive just tried to learn japanese but failed - i cant get my head round the 8281 menu
ive created the c line on a text file and and put it on the usb stick and tried to load in to the file transfer and it said Invalid text file.
i pressed the red button and it created a file on the usb stick called 6900HDSUPER_722p.STB
ive tried following where it says about the 8281 menu but cant get my head round it despite the links above.
i seem to have a mental block here now and i get the feeling im so near but yet so far ??

This is your Backup File.
So if All Fails with what ever you do between here and now ?
You can revert back to this as a first step....
For 5400 Super its "8280" Brings up BISS Menu

those posts say this can happen if you use a word editor instead of notepad
I use notepad plus for jobs like this though
sounds like you did the file transfer the wrong way or on the wrong section , especially as you backed up your firmware to an stb file ( set top box )
did you look at that post I gave you where giga explained it with pictures ?

you can give him as much technical help as you wish to , the only rule being you do not use actual server details etc , just examples like giga did
so no urls , no servers , no actual port numbers , no actual usernames or passwords

that patch (6900HDSUPER_722p.STB) was already on your USB stick, you put it there to patch the TM.
when pressing the red button: Upload Channel, it saves your channellist on the USB stick and you see a file with this name construction:

you should have a name and password for the server in the c line you have been given by the server admin
in that c line will be the name , password , port number , des key etc
the protocol is CCCAM in capitals like the example in the text file , so only CCCAM will go in there
basically you dissect the c line you have been given and copy and paste the relevant parts into that example
the deskey is probably the same as the example
the port number etc will be given in the c line
so you would add the name that you recognise for the server
the username
the user password
the port number

here is what I would say in this matter as an example
lets say the c line looked like this
C: satpimps.gotdns.com 12345 pimp1 pimp1password yes
then this is how you would dissect and paste it in
name: Satpimps1
ip:satpimps.gotdns.com
user:pimp1
password:pimp1password
protocol:CCCAM
deskey: 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
port: 12345
I hope that clarifies it a bit more

I would have thought that if its correct it should work within seconds like the eagle , assuming you have done it all correctly
I dont have your box so cannot test it , but its similar on the icecrypt as you can see from this post here

so you have CCCAM running? all I have running is newcamd. Looks like there is an issue with the IP address?

well it does seem it was the ip addy issue mate because for some reason when i unplugged the box last night it was working great.
then this morning before i turned the box on my lad was on his xbox360 and our network is setup with ethernet homeplugs so it issues automatic ip address on th ehome plugs.
but my TM is plugged staright into the router so when i plugged the box on this morning all i had was scrambled channels.
i checked my lads ip addy on his xbox and it had allocated the same ip addy as the TM so as soon as i changed the ip addy of the TM bang everything cleared.
strange but thats all i can say that happened because i was doing the c line ok as i had it checked by a top fella :-)
ive experimented again tonight by turning both the xbox off and the TM off and it happened each time so there is deffo an ip addy issue with homeplugs i guess.
i just hope all this hair loss since i started this will help others with the same issues ive had and all you lads have been superb in your help which is very much appreciated.

@B.M.
in the modem/router somewhere where the DHCP is defined you can change the range DHCP has to assign the IP adresses for hand out
move the start address up to X.X.X.4
this would mean the X.X.X.3 address would no be handed out.
in TM Main Menu: System Settings: IP Settings: take note of the IP details there
IP Address: X.X.X (1st 3 groups only)
Subnet Mask: X.X.X.X
Gateway: X.X.X.X
DNS: X.X.X.X
Change DHCP Usage to OFF
and fill in the same details from above just with this change:
IP Address: X.X.X.3
@alboke
somewhere in the router you can change the range where the home network operates in
the router access is now 192.168.1.1 change this in the router to 172.19.3.1
IP pool start 192.168.1.2 change this to 172.19.3.4
IP pool end 192.168.1.127 change this to 172.19.3.127
subnetmask 255.255.255.0 change this to 255.255.0.0
you can then setup TM as above
keep in mind if your using static IP elsewhere in the homenetwerk (computers, ...) to change this to
the login address changes to 172.19.3.1
more details would be in the router/modem manual or in the web interface help.
If you doubt anything ask these before, if you don't and mess up the router/modem settings you can loose the internet.
take note of all your provider settings (username, passwords, settings, ...) to have access to all services provided: like internet, phone, TV, ...
take screen shots, or if you know someone with good knowledge on these: ask her/him
hello lads.
well after all the trouble getting the TM up and running i decided to sell it as i wasnt comfortable with it because im used to linux based box.
ive now got myself a DM 800 HD and got it up and running sweet and must say i feel really comfortable using it and as i said in an earlier post on this thread that i thought i made a mistake in buying theTM although i did like the menu layout on it.
so anyway thanks for everyones help once again :0)

any help pls.
7.22p?
cccam or newcamd? try newcamd first on one of the test servers.
have you checked your modem/router firewall? is there a log with blocked events?
Input Rule
What is blocked to technomate?
if there is blocked traffic to technomate create a rule allowing TCP traffic to only TM
Output Rule
what is blocked from technomate?
If there is blocked traffic from technomate create a rule allowing TCP traffic from TM to any address
Don't decrease timeout in TM set this to 09 seconds
your ping to the server should be as low as possible, lower then < 9 ms. local < 2 ms
what is your current home network range?

hello lads.
well well well
im up and running - dont ask me how but i am and the only thing i really did that was different from all the help above was change my ip addy from 10 and changed it to 3 at the end.
i want to say know how much i appreciate all the help from you all because i know it can be frustrating trying to help someone who sometimes gets flustered like me.
i owe you all a beer :-)
