OK I have got my spiderbox today and I am trying g to set up the gift.
I have loaded the patch USB file and the box rebooted to a scrambled channel.
I went to the menu and then accessory
There were 3 options
Smart card
RS232
PVR
I pressed 1111 to enter other menu and the option Emulator appeared.
There is no network option as in the guide.
I have looked in the RS232 as that is the internet connection
And I have the options
STB to STB transfer
RS232 net (1:1)
K&J dongle
Microbox Dongle
Cxnet Domgle
That’s it! Nothing else.
What have I done wrong?
Thanks in advance

I followed this guide:
EXTRACT the file (*.uad) from the rar file and copy it to your USB stick.
You must extract the file using winzip or winrar or a similar program as the rar file or zip file on a USB stick will not be of any use to you.
Insert the USB stick into one of the USB ports in your spiderbox.
Go to the Accessory Section of the menu and select USB.
Scroll to the .uad file you have copied there and press OK
In the popup window, select S/W Update (the 1st option)
Wait for your box to load the patch.. DO NOT POWER OFF
The box will reboot by itself with the new patch installed.
Now press Right arrow on remote to Accessory
go to network and press 1111
to get hidden menu...(IF THE HIDDEN MENU IS NOT SHOWN) then you first
have to (LOAD A PATCH WITH GIFT) on it.

OK I found the network tab it was under the options menu not accessory.
I found NuevoXstream in Net application.
It has 3 headings
Type
Input type : the setting is domain
Server: this just has stars *****
and Authorisation
I selected Authorisation 3 more headings
ID
Password
Key (this has the long key in it)
and Finally register. When I pressed register the message came up straight away "This key is already registered" no waiting upto 5 mins!
I used the exit button and tried the channels.
When I go nova I get a scrambled signal, when I go to C+ on 1 west I get a scrambled signal, but I can decode Art and Aljazeera. What am doing wrong?

OK another update! I have got C+ sports 2 working, but it freezes every 10 seconds for about 10 seconds then cones back on and freezes again. It is not watchable like this. Is this a normal problem or is it just my slow internet connection? (1mb download)

I had the same response when initially setting up my box.
The cause of my problem was that was not getting a proper Internet connection as the DHCP on my Netgear DG834GT hub was not allocating an IP address.
If you go to IP settings then if it is working then you should see an IP address allocated. If not then use another router or manually allocate.
The way I got round it was to enter a manual IP address in the Netgear range and it connected striaght away.

I would always advocate using a fixed ip address and turning off dhcp , and use one at least 10 away from the router or more , so if the router is on ip 1 and your pc on 2 and lappy on 3 use say 11 upwards , leaving the first 10 free for pc and lappy use
then make sure you have forwarded the port address or a range of addresses to the ip the box or boxes use , say from ip10 to ip 20 , so tcp/udp forwarded to example 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.20 , or whatever your router uses ( where your box may be manually allocated to say 192.168.1.11 )
check portforward.com for details on port forwarding for any router
your port number will be in the c line

Ok I seem to have things working (apart from Nova but I think there is a problem with this for all!), but with a lot of freezing. I will read up on port forwarding to see if this makes a difference.
My router is one of the sky netgear ones so I will have a look at the portforward website.
Thanks for your help and I will post back with updates once I have tried echelons sugestion!
