I just received my spiderbox 9000hd,i was just wondering how you find out which patches are already installed(if any)or do i have to start with the first patch and then work through them in order?

You only have to install the latest patch+gift patch.

The latest patch+gift patch is called "New Magic HD Patch 07/04/2010"
