whats fausto plz
Hi,
If I understood it correctly, it's an emulator server for some providers which works on Windows based computers.
User will need to feed this application with bis(?) keys and multicas will work as newcamd client and connect to this application.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Partially true... these short instructions were about using Fausto as a local server for opening Nova Cyprus bouquet (13E), Bulsatcom bouquet (39E) + Arena Sport 2, 3, 4 at 39E (11104V-SR15000-FEC2/3-DVB-S QPSK) and CanalDigitaal bouquet (19.2E). Additionally, it opens up WDS TV at 10E and EURO 1080 (HD 1) at 9E.
Decryption concerns channels in Irdeto 2 ONLY!

Thanks for this tutorial, even a dummy like me can understand it! Got all packages working except for the soft encrypted viasat channels, can't seem to get these working?

Are you surely able to get a lock on these Viasat channels in West Yorkshire?
I can barely catch NRK 1 with 1.8m dish here in Balkans...
Anyway, it works 100% - I'm watching it right now.

Signal is very strong here in west yorkshire, between 50-80%, just can't get fausto to decode them! As i say, it works on C+NL, Bulsat, Nova, WDS & Euro 1080, just not viasat!
@joe b
Have you got a firewall running? I had same problem as you at first, found out zone alarm was blocking it.

Huh... it seems to me that you cannot connect your receiver to Fausto server because of NO SERVER running there at all :smash:
Redo your steps around starting of the Fausto server.

why should you forward ports to wan as long as you wish to work in local lan ? useless .
try at server config to change the ip of the listening server . 0.0.0.0 did the work for me instead of 127.0.0.1 . or at last use the ip of your pc ( not politically correct ) ...
use the command promt to see wheather the ports are opened and listening
use netstat -a command
hope it helps

I installed the package two days ago, and it worked OK on CANALDIGITAAL channels.
But today it has stopped working. My STB keeps saying "encoded" when I switch to a such channel. Fausto log says "cannot decode".
Is Any body else here with same problems?
