Good evening guys
I'm building a new house and I want to have sat tv in 3 rooms.
So far I've installed 2 mounts for 2 dishes on the terrace and one separate cable that goes to each of the 3 rooms (total 3 cables).
The first dish will be stable with 2 (or 3) quad lnb's. I was hoping that i could make the other dish motorized and have access to it from all of my 3 sat receivers but someone told me that it's not possible and only one receiver can have access to the motorized dish.
Is it true and if it is, is there any other way I can bypass this problem without altering the current installation???
Thanks in advance and forgive me for my poor English.

Problem might be when used by 3 receivers the motor has to be reset as it could forget the positions set. Give only 1 box control over the motor, make sure your position 0 zero is aligned correctly to the satellite close to the south most cases this would be 0.8°w. And have the other receivers only on the Quad lnb port 2 and 3
my current setup has something similar:
receiver 1 > diseqc switch > diseqc 1.2 motor > LNB
receiver 2 > diseqc switch > lnb's
receiver 3 > diseqc switch > lnb's

receiver 1 = where the most use of the dish motor is expected.
if the dish is not responding, select the point 0 satellite (0.8°) and use the goto satellite.
then the other satellites could be selected again.

for ease of use on the motorized receiver (zapping) sort only by name on the fixed lnb's, on the motorized LNB sort channel list: arc position: channel name, avoiding to much dish movements by jumping from sat position to sat position.

Thanks mate, that was very helpful.
Although I am totally noob with the motorized stuff I think I got your point.
I never would have thought this trick.
So if I want to watch a feed on a receiver other than the motorized one, I find the feed with the main one and then turn on the receiver I want right???

Yes, or you put the motor on the feed Hunting machine and when finished move that dish back in it's main position for family use. As the main positions would be either 28.2°E 23.5°E 19.2°E or 28.2°E 19.2°E 13°E with the motor probably on 1°W. Take a close view at the home viewing habits and you find the setup that suites you best.

I have 2 motorised dishes and each has 2 revievers working them.
They have no problems as the dishes are moved by a VBoxII's as they both have 36v motors but only one reciever can be on at a time per dish.
If i used a dual lnb i could run both with one as master the other as slave but not worth the extra wire for me.

there could be another solution:
johansson 9640KITUK - Multi Band Converter UK version:

1. Upgrade your installation with a Twin (or quad) LNB for a dual tuner input digital receiver with recorder (PVR).
DiSEqC function allows to receive signal from 2 satellites (e.g. Astra/Hot Bird)
Wide band 5-2150 MHz to combine terrestrial signal.
Record 1 program while watching another one.

2. No additional coax cable needed between dish and receiver.
No need to replace the existing cable.

3. Easy mounting of external unit as simple as a snap with your fingers.
Weatherproof housing.
Protected F connectors inside the housing.
Horizontally and vertically mountable strap positions.
Quick installation means a big reduction of time.

4. Transparent system.
No degradation of picture .
