BUG REPORT 1
Summary: If I create a weekly (or user event) reserved event and I define a custom name, after recording the file name is the one I've setted, but the custom field name in the reserved weekly event is overwritten with a string containing the date of the next recording.
Furthermore, this name created by date and time of beginning, also wrong because it does not take into account Daylight Saving ...
FirmWare Version: 0.9.4890
Receiver Model & SN: AZBox Premium HD
Tuner: DVB-S
Module: TV Module
Plugins installed: OpenXCAS
Steps to Reproduce: Simply reserve a weekly event and define a custom name for the file, then wait the end of the recording and check the custom name.

I can't believe it's so hard to solve

I don't know it's related with this firmware but I cannot manage to schedule timed recording ? I'm sure that it was possible before, but now I can only use EPG and cannot set a custom start-end date for recording. If there is no EPG information for the current channel, it only allows to record next one or two hours? Am I missing something?

After you start the recording,you can change the length of it,if you do it consecutively (save and change again),the length is unlimited.
This was always like that.

Start ? Is it possible for future recording schedules, too?

This is by far the best firmware by far...
Zapping is practically instant..
EPG now persists for the length of time it was loaded in days.. and if it goes into sleep and wake up still present (using azepgmgr 1.5a)..
Only thing i can't get to work is to get EPG to load on reboot without having to telnet to azbox and using the ./azboxepg command.. Has any one a solution??
(I have put S11ApplyEPG in start.d folder but it doesn't load epg on reboot..)

Did you save the file S11ApplyEPG in the directory /DISK2/etc/start.d/ ?
May You post the content of your "/DISK2/etc/start.d/"?
Did you assign executable rights (chmod 755 /DISK2/etc/start.d/S11ApplyEPG)?

I saved the file S11ApplyEPG in the directory /DISK2/etc/start.d/..
I also assigned executable rights (chmod 755 /DISK2/etc/start.d/S11ApplyEPG.
See attached file..

just opened S11ApplyEPG and noticed this was the start script..
start() {
echo "===> Starting EPG Loader"
cd /DATA/hdb1/EPG
./azboxepg -a
Would i need to change it to:
start() {
echo "===> Starting EPG Loader"
cd /DATA/hdb1/newEPG/bin
./azboxepg -a
As per my setup???
I answered my own question.. Changing the S11ApplyEPG as per my set-up worked.. EPG now loads on reboot.. Delighted now..
One question :
If i use ./azboxepg -l instead of -a, as box is only rebooted once or twice a week to keep up to date sources..

Thanks psham. We may not have a stable firmware, but at least you guys are doing what you can to get the system more functional.

I still have to reset to factory settings most of the time when I try wireless after using wired for a while. If you only keep using wireless, there's no problem. But when you mix them from time to time, wireless is just not working "not available"..

I have played videos now in all different types of quality, not a single freeze yet in this firmware.
I do have to say I am running the priorityscript and hardware acceleration, as well as a swap-file.
I was watching the 1080p version of Alice in Wonderland yesterday, no problems.

I presume you didn't watch it with DTS then?
It seems pot luck if a DTS movie will play without freezing halfway through. :smash:

I do, but I recode this to PCM. This downmixes to stereo, but results in no freezes.
