I'm pretty sure the I can move my motor without the LNB connected. The power to the motor comes from the reciever so I think it should still move.

Yes motor would move.
Do you have a friend that has a Technomate 6(8/9)00 HD super or receiver that has a graphical frequency analyzer? (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=114413&highlight=analyzer) <= click here
when looking at the graph it should not show a sharp drop at the end of any frequency

in satellite setup, select the satellite your dish is pointed at
Switch LNB Power on/off should see a difference in Level and Quality.
In the tranponder field walk through the transponders with left or right remote cursor
most of these shoudl show yellow and blue blocks instead of red ones.
If this is the case for lower and higher frequencies either horizontal or vertical the LNB would be OK.

check cabling and connectors first: water, oxidation, loose strand causing bad contact or interference. Sat beeper will give same result as signal strength. If you know someone that has a loose cable or a spare LNB.
