Hey,

I've read before azbox recording feature is not compatible with ex** formatted HDD. Is it still problematic with latest firmwares? I would like to format my HDD from ext2 to ext 3. Since there are lots of files, before all file migration and formatting, I thought it would be better to ask you to save time.

Thanks...

I use the Ext 3, and works well.
Initially we formatted in ext 2 and then we converted with Debian(tune2fs) to ext 3 without losing data(with bachup!!).

/dev/hda1 on /MMP type ext 3 (ro,data=ordered)
/dev/hda2 on /PLUGINS type ext 3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/hda3 on /DISK2 type ext 3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/hda4 on /Download type ext 3 (rw,data=ordered)
/dev/hdb1 on /DATA/hdb1 type ext 3 (rw,data=journal)

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock5 1.0M 404.0k 620.0k 39% /DISK1
/dev/hda1 135.6M 109.7M 18.9M 85% /MMP
/dev/hda2 15.5M 3.8M 10.9M 26% /PLUGINS
/dev/hda3 7.7M 3.9M 3.5M 53% /DISK2
/dev/hda4 78.4M 53.3M 21.1M 72% /Download
/dev/hdb1 916.9G 393.2G 477.1G 45% /DATA/hdb1

Do you have any problem with SD or HD recording?

with MultiCAS and swap, no.
I have problems just with cccam214 (ND$_it@)
Before, you can test with a USB Flash, formatted on Ext 3 (GParted)

Thank you for this useful information. Since I don't use CCCam I'll format my HDD as ext 3. Because ext 2 causes too much file corruptions on improper shutdowns.

If you formate the HDD with AZBoxHD, the HDD would be formatted in ext 3.

Nope,

Formatted my HDD last week from menu:

/dev/hdb1 on /DATA/hdb1 type ext 2 (rw,nogrpid)

I'll format it manually for ext 3

Unfortunately ext 3 formatted HDD is really slow for me. My FTP speed slows down after ext 3:

ext 2 with Priority Manager: 50-55 Kbps
ext 2 without Priority Manager: 35 Kbps

ext 3 with Priority Manager: 35 Kbps
ext 3 without Priority Manager: 20-25 Kbps

I'll return to ext 2 since this seems to effect all file write processes (ftp, recording , downloading)
