Hi guys, my hard disk installed inside azbox is recognized sometimes, and sometimes not. If it's no more recognized, I need to install a new firmware or reset factory settings, then it's recognized once again. But it's just for first boot, then it's no more recognized. It's really weird ! Any of you guys having such problem with internal hard disk?
Also, the hard disk is formatted in linux by the box itself. So it's in Linux format all the time

Do you alos checked the messages after the problem occured?
Use
dmesg
to show log entires - maybe you'll find the problem 'explained' there.

any other way to solve the problem other than jumper settings? I don't have the jumpers with me anymore. They are long lost

From official forum:
Please provide your HDD full reference.
If your HDD is a EARS or AARS series you will get a problem because it uses 4Ko sector, you should use a EADS.
Moreover the very last % last longer than the other one, so I think that you didn't wait long enough so be patient and I think the the formating will end up by itself.
Hello,
EARS are not supported, please choose an EADS model in this brand.

I found the way how to make it work :)
1. set jumpers 7-8 on disk
2. format in ext2 with "Acronis Disk Director Suite 10" (must be single primary partition)
and it works.
do not use "Paragon hard disk manager" it does not work with it
it took me 3 days and at least 10 formats of the drive to figure it out.
it also works if you format it with telnet but only 478gb partition is usable
