Hi all
Recently been given one, its a TomTom v 7.162 with UK and Ire Map V 715.1689.
I've already updated the speed camera, thanks to Russell1 file plus stickies.
Considering updating the map but, not sure which map to use. I really would appreciate advice.
Thanks

Update the Navcore using Tomtom Home - should be v7.9** & then patch the ttsystem file with the activation tool. You can then use the v845.2647 UK & RoI map which will also need activating using the same tool.
The v850.**** maps should be released soon :)

Thanks for your reply "Russell1"

I'm afraid I've no idea what Navcore is.

Navcore is the software on the Tomtom.

Yes I made a point of finding out what navcore is, the operating system. Please excuse my lack of knowledge.
A couple of weeks ago I tried to update my tomtom using tomtom home and got a message that said "no maps" fortunately I had made a backup first so was able to recover it. Hence I am a little concerned using tomtom home again.
Is it possible to update without using tomtom home.
I really appreciate your effort

It's ok to use Home to update, but you have to patch Tomtom Home on your PC, patch the ttsystem on your Tomtom file after you have updated & also any copied maps need activation. Guide & tool are posted here -

Alternative tool posted here -

You can update without using Home, but you need to find an updated copy of navcore.

Hi
Have used Tomtom home to make a backup copy and, I also have another copy on spare SD card.
When I connect to Tomtom home it states that there is an update 12mb, will this include the latest suitable navcore for my device.
Thanks for your continued patience.

Finally plucked up sufficient courage to make a start.
Updated the application using Tomtom home.
Arrived at "No Maps Found"
Using BBS tools Suite V 1.0.30
Search Device Unit
The following data showing
TomTom One Version One{V4}
Bootloader 53029 Navcore 7903 9183 ****.txt version 10.03.12

Then went to maps - install maps - UK and ROI_845.2647
Copying of map starts but after approx 1 min get the following message "Cannot copy cline. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error"
Clearly I've gone wrong somewhere but where.

Tomtom home will give you the information for any updates.

Try using a card reader to add the map.

Followed your instructions, they were spot on. Now have updated navcore, map and safety camera data.
Been out in the car this morning everything working fine, would never have done it without your assistance.
Thanks again
Hugh
