4 way Disecq problem/setup

Hi, I have had my 2 dishes ( 28.2 and hotbird) working fine on my dm800 with a disecq switch . I have now got a vu+, and set to advanced and tell it I have a 4 way switch ( using Dream elite...as was on my DM800). The box goes away searches for channels, finds loads on 28.2 then loads on hotbird, but when I switch to a hotbird channel, I get no picture

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any info on how to set up a disecq switch on the vu correctly?

I have found that DiSEqC switches don't follow any particular convention.

It is likely that the order of satellites is different to the DM and you have just been lucky with 28E.

Another possibility is that if 28E is on A (or AA or 1) it might be that the Vu+ isn't actually set up correctly for DiSEqC and is just defaulting to the first LNB on the switch.

Check if your switch is 1.0 (Committed) or 1.1 (UnCommitted) DiSEqC, these have different commands?

check the coax on the plug ,
aiso if port 1 is working swap the plugs round .
dont for get in ur satellite box menu as opions to change a/b/c/d or 1/2/3/4 or other
also the right satellite also ur trying to scan ;-) .
