TomTom go930T need big help

hi people.....

I need big help I'm planning trip from Uk to Czech republic
in three weeks time and my tomtom tels me that my maps
nearly two yers old and to update the map is £80about.

I have read the article about the update but how do I tel what
maps I need (what's the newest ) how do I start from scrach with
the update ,and aftrer update will i be able to save my staff what
I have already on it ..voices etc.Mostly I need western and central Europe

So is there somebody who can help and give the step by step guide for
newbee ,I'm going to read the top article few more times to understod bit more.

Use the guide to update the Navcore (Tomtom software) & then patch the ttsystem file on your tomtom. The latest copied map available is the Western & Central Europe v845.2645 map. but the new v850.**** are starting to be released now.

Password - GSM free (remove the space in the password, the forum software changed it to G***ree)

This map is @ 2.3gb


Just use Tomtom Home to update to the latest Navcore & then patch the ttsystem file.
If you have already got a Western & Central Europe map on your Tomtom delete it before adding the new map. If you have enough free space on the internal memory you can put it on there, or get a new sd card, but you will need at least a 4gb card for this map as it's 2.3gb.

Make sure you have a full back up copy before you make any changes !!

The 930 ( I have one) has 4gb memory inside it will fit on you will need to delete old map

I did a bit search and it is thrue that the tom tom go only supports 2gb sd card?
i want to use the 4gb sdhc it will work?

My tom tom is nearly full and i dont know why ? i dont have any picture or music in it ,i thing it has something to do with the update but i dont know what i should delete (folder etc.) can you help me with this one as well please......:-)

The earlier Tomtoms would only work with a 2gb card, but by upgrading the bootloader - think to 55012 or higher then it would work with the larger memory cards. Your's should be "BootLoaderVersion=55015" so no problems with a 4gb card - I've tried my Go730 with a 8gb card & it worked ok.

If you have already got an old Western & Central Europe map folder - delete it first before adding new map folder.

Use Tomtom home to remove some of the voice files & also have a look in the LoquendoTTS folder for unused voice files & also delete some of the cpspeech files in the map folder - just leave the English files.

Make sure you keep a copy of everything you delete so you can restore if you delete any needed files.

I"v got now everithing ready for the first time update, everithing
is deleted from internal memory ,now I thing today I should receive
new 4gb card ,maps are ready,all activation tools on place I hope
everithing ok bit scare not to ...fook up ...my Tom Tom.If the post about
updating tomtom devices is ok and I read it about 100 times I hope it will be fine
cross fingers......
