hi , quick q if I may

cant find a tutorial on getting the box key from a wh*te card using the dm800HD , so is it the same as telnetting with the bl*e one ? and if anyone is kind enough to point me at it I would be grateful

thanks in advance for any heads up ;)

nb , I also have a tm9100 or spider 9000 if they are of any help ?

ps:- found one thread with some info here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=133935&highlight=boxkey

or here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=132915&highlight=boxkey

When the white card came out I thought that one of the extra security measures was that emu's like cccam were unable to read the boxkey from the card as they could with the blue one.
Of course earlier versions of cccam couldn't read the card at all and we had to use newcs. Now that cccam from 2.1.3 can read the card, I still don't know if it or newcs can see the boxkey.
I doubt this is possible, but can try if it is any help.

Edit: I should have tried before I wrote that!!! just telnetted to peers box and it reads key just the same as it used to.

Yes its exactly the same method. 2.1.3 onwards will read the card direct without newcs.
Also if you get the serial from the services menu, it can be converted with windows scientific calculator.

I still don't think that CCcam or newcs can read the boxkey from the card, I guess they read it from the config file otherwise you wouldn't have to manually insert the boxkey for premium channels?

looks like I have to use a converter by B16MCC called boxkey creator or something so I will google it unless somebody knows where it is ?

I have looked in the dreambox tools section etc but cant find it , so if anybody can upload it to the public section or dreambox section ?

thanks to one of the members here who replied privately with the name , and to all other replies so far

obviously if I can use something to generate it , I wont have to telnet etc

thanks again

Try this: hxxp://boxkey.exyucs.com/

thank you , I just tried this by looking at the very large 17 character serial number on the box , inputting it , and my current boxkey came up correctly in its answer

so it uses the large 17 character number from under the box itself , not the other 16 character EA blah blah serial number on the other label there

so for anyone checking this , you need the larger 17 one

I have now added the converter by B16MCC to dreambox tools for anyone else who needs it.

ok , thanks for all the help so far

I used the online site to generate the boxkey from the 17 character serial number and got a result , but I still could not open the premium stuff when using the key I got

what I am wondering is whas I correct in using that particular key , or do I have to change it using some converter ? ( its in a tm9100 I tried it in the cccam.cfg file where it says boxkey, not my dm800 )

thanks

Newcs the key has to be 12345678
CCcam the key has to be 12 34 56 78

The spacing is very important.

I think that any letters need to be in upper case in cccam.cfg, the channels in SID assign have to be as well.

m8 get your old blue card and put in your box. Telnet to your box and kill CCcam.
Then start CCcam with the command ./CCcam -d
That's if CCcam is called CCcam and not CCcam_2.1.3. If its called CCcam_2.1.3 then start with ./CCcam_2.1.3. -d

Watch what it says and you will see the message reading box key from card, that is your box key and is what you need for your white card to run under CCcam.

This is for CCcam.cfg

BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 ** ** ** **

That is what I did keano but I don't think echelon has an old card.

thanks again for the replies

yes I do know my box key from my old blue card , and I double checked this against the website above

this other one is from a new box and so never had any blue card , so that isnt an option for me unfortunately

reading sonics reply above , I now realise I had added it in the cccam.cfg , but it probably should be in the newcs xml file !!! doh !

I wll also bear in mind the caps versus lower case argument too

so when I get chance to check that particular card again , I will have the details in newcs where they probably should have been ;)

but hey , thats how we all learn ;)

just looking at my old newcs.xml I cant even see anywhere for a boxkey to go

maybe its too old ?

Perhaps the xml file you have didn't need a boxkey, this one has one here:
<blockga>No</blockga
<!-- <boxkey>0000000000</boxkey> -->
<!-- <rsa>0000000000</rsa> -->
<irdeto-camkey>0000000000000000</irdeto-camkey>
although it only needs the 8 digits this is a (made up) working one:
<boxkey>0ABC2D00</boxkey>

finally got around to retesting this and the boxkey was correct but was needed in the newcs file in this case , all ok when added , so thanks to all that responded with that info

also tried it using a spider 9000 and again it worked fine after inputting that same boxkey derived from the box serial number , in the newcamd server setup section with the same names and passes and port etc

how do you put boxkey in spider via the newcamd section? I am lost.
