I have a number of recordings made on my old DM7000 and have transferred the .ts files onto my Icecrypt, but cannot play them there.

It appears that the Icecrypt generates .rap and .idx files with the same name as the corresponding .ts file(s). Does anyone know what these files are and whether it is possible to generate them for existing .ts file recordings, please?

with mediainfo
http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en you can look in the .TS file and see the differences between the 2 (DM7000 <> Icecrypt). Perhaps you can solve the issue with Format Factory:
http://www.pcfreetime.com/ or with a similar software. There was TS Doctor from cypheros.de that did some conversion or repair, is now 30 day trial and then you have to buy a licence

I uploaded 4 types of file to the HDD, all originally from dreambox, converted and edited with videoredo. .mpg .ts .vob .mp4. Only .vob will play on the Icecrypt. It recognises the .ts, but errors with a message saying incorrect format. It doesnt see the .mpg or .mp4.

Mp3 files will play as well

I am having some success just renaming the files to .vob!

Thanks for the hint. :respect-064:
