Hi All
I notice on my Tom Tom 1 that the audible alarm comes in approx. 4 mph above speed limit
example when in a 30 mph area it comes in at 34mph.
Is it possible to reset it to come in at 30 mph

Have a good day

i think its becuse at 30 your car is doing around 27-28 true speed, then allowing for a slight differance as the police do it should work out right. also at 70 your car is doing around 65 and same rules apply. hope i got that right.:respect-050: and no dont think it can be altered as its going of the satallites.

The sat-derived speed displayed on your satnav is pretty accurate, so speedo tolerances aren't relevant here.

I don't believe the warning can be adjusted, only turned off. I would think that the leeway is so that the warning isn't triggered when doing the speed limit - poor reception can make the calculated speed fluctuate a bit, so the warning would be on and off all the time.

A speedometer is only accurate to + or - 3 miles per hour.

Not true...

It can over read usually up to around 10%

But not allowed to under read.

My speedo is same as GPS speed, so less than 1mph error.

Thanks to you all for your input, it's evident that the Tom Tom setting cannot be changed.

Thanks again
