View Full Version : Motor issues. Vu+ Dream Elite!
Hi all.
Is not a big deal, as my friend is helping me tomorrow tweaking the dish as it is very high up, and needs two peeps!
Looks like the wind has moved it over time.
OK!!
Using USALS, set my long/lat no probs.
I can fine steer the dish, and there is the option to save positions in 1 of 254 in the box, as that would do for now.
I am finicky being a radio engineer, and want the dish to be spot on.
The only problem is, is that when I try the option to save the position it doesn't remember it!!
Very strange.
I have looked at the motor manual sat table, and even tried to store as indicated, but to know avail(Moteck)
In case I need to use this in the future, can anybody suggest as to why I can't save the positions please?
I have tried other than USALS, but no joy.
A great many thanks in advance......

Do you press ok after you enter the sat position and exit from the menu...

Ive got my vu working fine with moteck vbox positioner
Make sure you select advanced mode on e2
& if you are using a twin lnb make sure Tuner B is set exactly as Tuner A
This means going into Tuner B menu & setting each sat to store at required position.
ie 28.2 east =28 on vbox & moteck positioner
If you just set 'Tuner B equal to Tuner A' in sat configuration menu it wont work
When you 'store' the vbox should flash the position its been stored at
Check you have connected the vbox up properly m8
Lnb cable to vbox
Then coaxial cable from vbox to vu box
Then if twin lnb second cable from lnb goes straight to Tuner B
Hope this helps
It wont let me save advanced on e2 without deleting satellites.
When i select dont delete, i need to reboot the box, then the setting reverts to simple(usals)
I only hva a Vu and a motor.
You mention Vbox mate???
Am using tuner B not selected NOTHING CONNECTED

Fixed that part of the issue.
Thanks guys.
Will report back
Come what may this thing won't store.
It does not flash up stored!!
Even in simple or advanced usals settings.
I'll continue to google this, as its really ****ing me off!!
I get a green screen saying the thing is going to crash when i play with the settings.
Am beginning to think that I need to reinstall the image!!

Are you saving positions via positioner set up ?? As that tends to cause alot of green screens
You should do it via sat configuaration menu & scroll down page
When u get to use usals say no
& then u should get options of store position -type in position & ok to save
Repeat exercise for 'Tuner B'

Thank you my friend.
Everything is fine now on USALS.
WEnt up to the dish, and set it spot on.
Finds all sats now.
Is best to have it all prefect, rather than to compensate.
Thanks for the tip kind friend.
Will print this thread, and keep it in the box, lol
AS for tuner B, I simply disabled it, as I dont need it as yet.
Reinstalling the Image killed the problem dead in regards to green screens.
Hasn't happened since!!
BTW!!
Your settings file is wonderful my friend.
It's so comforting to know that somebody takes the time to do all this for free.
Coupled with the best CS that I have ever seen, everything is perfect:respect-055::bowing-036::respect-040:

Nothing to do with the post here (so delete if you want mods/admins), but catseye, are you from West Midlands?!
Just noticed your avatar was Batham's Best. Used to go to a Bathams pub at my mates, and it's one of the best bitters around :) As I said, not on topic, but just made me fancy a pint of it when I noticed it. Send some over will ya :) hehe
