DM500 and Diseqc Switch

Hi,
I have just set up a small system using a Triax 78 Dish with 3 Lnb's and a Diseqc switch. I have set up the Dish and Lnb's correctly and all are working. My question is how to control the switch. If I restart the receiver on Hotbird all is working fine, then move tp 19deg all is fine and then on to 28.2deg and all is fine. Now if I go back to 19 or 13 Deg I am not getting any signal. I have set up the tuner for Diseqc with 4 lnb.s. Do I need to send a command to the switch to return to 19 or 13 deg.

Hi Pedigree.

Once the switch is setup there is little for you to do other than to enjoy zapping through your channel list and enjoying quick channel change times even when going between satellite.

It seems like you may have not configured the switch with the settings in the tuner configuration.

By default, when you restart a receiver, the switch will be reset to the first position. And, you say Hotbird is working fine it would suggest Hotbird 'should' be on this first position of the switch. BUT, you may have this incorrectly set in the receiver menu to position C for example. Check that the switch matches exactly what you have set in the tuner configuration.

Also, I'm assuming you have a spare connector on the switch... you should terminate this. Get a coax terminator connector.

I have set the tuner to Diseqc ABCD. A default is Hotbird B default is Astra. I have then selected 28.2 for C and nothing connected for D.
The switch is marked 1.2.3.4. I will get a coax terminator connector for 4.

I still haven't managed to get this working properly. If I need to change satellite I change the tuner set up to positioner and then back again. The following are my settings:

Set Voltage and 22khz yes
Send DISEqc only on satellite change no
