An old TT ONE V2 but recently upgraded to Navcore 7.903 with map V850.2820. (from info off this forum...thanks). How can I upgrade to IQ routes and ALG please. Can't find a compatibility chart for V850 maps to Navcore.

Cheers

You need at least Navcore v8.204 to use any of the maps with IQ routes & ALG - the version I've posted in the guide will probably work for you. Then you can use the v850.2781 map which has IQ routes & ALG.

Thanks for the reply. I have one further question before I try please. In your guide, you mention that the patched Navcore may not work 100%. What problems have been reported, and is there any chance of causing any permanant damage to the unit?

Sometimes it just doesn't work, or might be slow in responding. Can't cause any permanent damage as restoring from a back up copy will get it back as it was previously.

Well tried the Navcore 8.204 and Maps 850.2781, but had problems. TT One V2 would boot up albeit slowly, and take a long time to find satellites, but main problem was the unit would freeze if you tried to input a destination by postcode. If the same destination was input by street name and number then it would be OK. ALG worked, but no sign of IQ routes. Eventually "downgraded" to 7.903 and Map 850.2820 which seems to work fine all around...Shame as ALG was good and IQ routes would have been handy. Thanks for all the advice on these forums.

Set keyboard to qwerty solves problem
Also have Navcore 8.417.1255 which works better on V2

Set keyboard to qwerty solves problem

& also use Small fonts :)

When using any patched version of navcore it will always take a few minutes for it to boot up after each & every time you connect the tomtom to a PC.

Thanks again for the advice. I've done a search for navcore 8.417-1255 and there's loads out there. Tried one from morfive, but will not work. Can you advise a good link to a good patched version please

Many thanks Satpaul. That worked a treat. Out of interest, just how far as anybody pushed their TomTom ONE V2, ie latest useable working Navcore and Map combination?

Don't know about the best navcore, but some functions just won't work such as bluetooth handsfree or voice commands as the TT one units do not have a microphone.
You've got the available latest map - v850.2781

:iagree:
I just installed UK & ROI map v850.2821 with nav v8.417 on a TT One v2 and everything was OK including bluetooth and sound: until I started selecting / testing voices, lost all sound and bluetooth as mentioned above, changed keyboard to qwerty but sound etc still didnt work so back to the drawing board.

Try using Tomtom home to get some of the free voice files.

I put some voices on my TTOne v2 but still no sound, even the POI sound alerts didnt work, I have since tried the same map and navcore on a GO530 and it works a treat so gotta be something to do with TTone

Have you tried connecting your TT One to your PC and then use Tomtom Home to download any voice files ? If it still doesn't work try using the v8.204 navcore I've posted in the guide thread.

I tried several combinations of Navcore and Maps, and one of them did not work with sound. Unfortunately, I can't remember which one. I did end up copying the old and original voice folder that came with the unit into the "new" Navcore and that seemed to cure it. No special voices, just the standard ones. Hope that helps.

Yes thats got mt TT One working with the 8.417 navcore, gave it a run out yesterday and IQ and ALG both work, installed latest pocketgps speed cams and configured warning sound if on route and works perfectly. Do get an error message at startup tho "Run in save Ram mode no BT no TTS" doesnt seem to be a problem though, just got no bluetooth which I am willing to sacrifice for IQ and ALG.
Thanks guys
