My old Echostar had a built in positioner but my new Technomate 6900 hasn't.

Can someone recommend me something cheap and cheerful but idiot proof when it comes to getting it up and running :D

Must be compatible with my 6900 as I want that to operate it so the actual positioner can be hidden behind my av stand.

it has but it only works a diseqc motor
what you need is a diseqc to 36 volt converta box
its called a v box

Technomate V Box MK3
with handset. (V Box MkIII)

Convert Diseqc to 36 volt positioning.
This is the new MK 3 (Mk III)

One of the most significant developments for motorised systems in years.
99 satellite positions.
Fully automatic option. Just select the channel on your Diseqc receiver and your
36 volt motor / dish will move to the correct satellite and channel.
Can also be used as a stand alone positioner and it comes with a handset.
Full specifications and more pictures below. (No need to use the handset in automatic mode.)
