MY SETTINGS ARE configuration mode (advanced) LNB (lnb1)

PRIORITY (auto) LOF (universal lnb) VOLTAGE MODE (polariszation)

INCREASED VOLTAGE (no) TONE MODE (band) DISEP MODE (1.2)

TONE BURST (none) COMITTED DISCEQ COMMAND (none)

FAST DISCEQ (no) SEQUENCE REPEAT (YES)
COMMAND ORDER (commited toneburst)

UNCOMITTED DICSEP COMMAND (NONE) DISCEP REPEAT (NONE)

use power measurement (no) use usuals for this sat (yes)

my longtitude and latitude from multimaps . com are

now when i set my dish to goto 0 it moves to 1 west and the signal is 100 percent on 1 meter dish.

look at my long and lat above from multi map these are the setting i have had to put into the box they are as follows.

west
quite a big difference to 2.60113 from multimaps at very most i should only be changing to say 002.80113 0r 002.40113 and not 015.447

north
these are the settings i have in my box now.
the satellite will move to all the satellites i have stored all 20 of them with good signal strenth on each one but they will only move when i select an hd channel.
for instance if im on 28.2 watching a channel and i select sky sports 1 standard def on 19.2 it wont move .... if i select skysports hd on 19.2 it will move
no such problems when i manually tune the satellites but somtimes it fails to move.
my cabling is of the higest standard i have short tested it and i have snap and seal connections on... all is fine there the only conclusion i can come to is i have a faulty tuner

what image??
reason for the question - I m testing dream elite on a 500hd - the motor won't move when you issue a move command, but it will if you do a search!
It all worked fine with OoZooN.....

I hope I am not getting confused here but I cant understand your settings at all.
What motor and dish do you have? there should be absolutely no need at all to "store any satellite positions"
Normally with USALS all you do is select configuration mode=simple
Mode=Positioner put in your lat and long, this doesn't even have to be to lots of decimal places, then adjust the motor and dish for best signal and every satellite in the arc will be there.

On the 8k - 03.04.2010 - OoZooN fullimage E² 2.8 "stable" OE 1.5
on the 500HD - 26.06.2010 - OoZooN Image E² "experimental" OE 1.6
same settings as you.

crabber m8, do you mean:

:manually set the dish to 1 deg west.

:do the config as you say.

:manually adjust the satellite dish for the best signal and thats it?

The reason I am a bit nervous is that the dish is on the side of my house and I can't allow it to go on a spree beyond 28e due to the wall being in the way. :leaving:

@heathercar

I've removed your long and lat unless you don't mind everyone knowing where you live

USALS is only good if your dish is spot on otherwise you have to adjust your long and lat, you can get a much more accurate long and lat with google maps zoom into your dish/house in satellite view then right click on your dish/house and select what's here your long and lat will appear in the search bar

it doesnt matter m8 simple mode positioner or advanced with use usuals set to on. more or less the same only you can set more things in adavnced mode such as sequece repeat if you are using twin lnbtwin cable etc

oldfart just sussed it works fine in simple mode positioner.
but set all your satellites first in advaced mode using usuals of course unless you are using a channel list which i hate . you also have to do scan in simple mode positioner.
for the satelites it doesnt scan in you will have to pick up the satellite first in positioner set up on simple mode positioner and then press no when it asks you zap back and then change your mode to simple and to the satellite you are scanning only. and then do the scan
after scan change it back to simple postioner. definately something wrong but it works on 1.6 dream elite using usuals

I had looked up the lat and long to see if it was close enough for me to pop around and set it for you!
@dave3dg yes m8 you should be able to set the limits that your motor will drive to.
@ others I have a bee in my bonnet about setting a dish, I am not claiming to be an expert on this but:
I have set up very many, and they all work, different receivers can be plugged in and if they have USALS they work as well.
When I read posts about tweaking the dish with the remote, storing satellite positions it makes me mad lol
There should be absolutely no need for any of this. If you are starting from scratch adjust the vertical bracket of your dish to your latitude, set USALS in the receiver, drive the motor to 0 resetting it, then select a FTA channel (on say 1W) or use a £10 meter from screwfix then adjust the motor and dish on the pole for strongest signal, finally fiddle with vertical adjustment.
I can assure everyone that once this is done ALL satellites will work.
sorry for the rant I wont say any more!

@crabber its not a setting problem m8 its a software problem m8 ive probbly been involved in over thousands and thousands or more installs of signal equipment

for those of you not understanding post 13 there is problems when you either scan in simple mode usuals positioner or advanced mode usuals with dream elite image

or maybe its my frigging tuner any way i have now set up and every sat is now working fine on positioner mode simple usuals

Think its a 1.6 issue with a lot of things not working, or un-doing themselves. 1.5 stable images just 'work'.
I won't be changing the 'main' DM from 1.5 to 1.6 until there is a stable image. I use the 500HD for playing.
I use DTS passthrough for 1.5, I don't downmix.

:cheers2:no worries oldfart hehe dts passthrough could you eplain more on that

oldfart

yes - if you have an amp that can decode DTS, then the DM will simply pass the sound through without changing it to AC3

Yep - DTS sound through an amp is MUCH better than the sound your TV can deliver.
