Hi,
I have an 150g external hard drive working well.
I have unplugged this and connected to my computor USB port...is not recognised.
Is there any way I can playback recordings on my laptop.
It was formatted on TM as advised.

your laptop should recognize this if it is a Windows OS. Most likely the USB is mixed up, use this tool to clean up usb devices on your laptop with all USB devices disconnected. Then reboot laptop and when finished booting connect USB hard disc.

once you have access to the recordings, you need to join the files to one file: trp + 001 + 002, ... and so on
then you need to convert the TRP to TS, normally you then can play these with VLC

Agree with Gig, yer lappy should really be able to see yer usb drive.
try a different slot maybe.

the recordings are made in 1.5gb chunks and labelled 1,2,3 etc. use 'video redo' to join them together. you'll then need to convert these to .ts i think to play on vlc.

its been a year or so since i did this so a bit hazy.
