C band isn't really used in western europe to my knowledge however I am wondering a little about how it would work in Asia with regards to satellite reception.
C band is of a much bigger wavelength (compared to Ku band) and requires much larger dishes in most cases. From my understand, 2-3metre dish size is pretty much entry level for being able to receive from a handful of satellites broadcasting in C band.
If you wanted to setup a decent rig in Asia, are C band and Ku band dishes effectively the same? Only determining factor being the LNB type catching the reflected signals?
I have seen it is possible to get Ku+C band LNBs with two connectors so, both types can be received using one LNB. But, is there specific C band dishes... if so, how are they different (other than in size) to that of Ku band?
Can anyone point me into the right direction on reading about polar mounts/actuators for motorising such a large dish. I am not working on anything specific I just want to know about it. Cheers
