Hi Just bought a new Vuo+ duo from gold wafers of course. I have not even took it out the box yet, but have read the manual and prior to setting it up noticed there is no instructions in the manual on how to set it up for searching sattelites. I have a motorised system at the moment and use diseqc 1.2. I would like to set it up on usals. Has anyone got any instructions for this please?

Iam sure the mods will place this in the correct section and then you should get a reply.

Have you read Lee from GW Sticky on how to set the box up?

This is an excellent guide and should get you well on your way to using your motor using USALS

What type of motor are you using?
If the motor isn't USALS compatible you'll need to set up the motor manually using DiSEqC 1.2.

The motor is a stab motor and i use it with a protek 9600ip at the moment but only in diseqc 1.2 mode, but thought i would try and use it with my new VU+ Duo on Usals because its more accurate so i am told.

not all motors are usals compatible , so although it is a good system , there is no point wanting to use it if your motor does not support it

so as your old box was using diseqc v1.2 , maybe you have no choice but to use diseqc v1.2 and not usals

I would not say its more accurate either , its easier to setup if your motor is correctly aligned , as you only set up one satellite for it to know where the rest are ( usually 1w )

so accuracy = NO , easier to setup = YES

Thanks for the advice i have decided to use it on diseqc 1.2 and it seems ok, but now I have another query. Has anyone else had the same problem. I am trying to find 16E and have noticed that on some searches (Transponders) my motor wont move, but on others it will but i cant get it to lock on can anyone help please?

Cheers for the reply mate, But not certain what info you require to help me.
[I] am using dreamelite image.not sure how to check what drivers, and what is satellite.xml.
My motor will move manually on certain searches and transponders, but yet again on some it wont move, and i dont understand why?
