I try to run newcs daemon as a card server on ICECRYPT 4000 FW IRD. I use newcs.st40 binary and i try to run it "by hand". So I got on console:
Could not open device /dev/sci0 [Might be in use by another process?]
The slot is reseting and system try to initialise once again
I put my card to lower slot. Upper slot is disabled in config file.
fuser /dev/sdi0 shows nothing. What the problem is? Can anybody help me?

An st 40 processor is used in a kathrein and an IP box, I know absolutely nothing about an Icecrypt but wonder if you are using the correct binary file for newcs?

ICERYPT use ST chipset too (like Kathrein). So binary woks but the problem is that unknown proces use sci interface. So maybe You know something about proper binary?

No I am sorry, I didn't realise your receiver had an ST chipset!
Newcs runs fine on a Kathrein and IP but I mostly used it with E2, not the original software.
